The video is not a criticism of the public school system. Kelly Sears, the creator of the film, got the idea after looking through a yearbook. The looks on the faces of the students made Kelly wonder if the time period that they were living in had anything to do with it. The video isn't real, per se. Rather, it is trying to show how people were affected with the values of the Nixon-era in which selfishness and fear were prevalent. No real disaster actually occurred. It's just a story.?

I agree with DoverOverClover but I also think that "being commercial" shouldn't be a bad thing. One must be careful not to judge the quality of a song by it's popularity or potential to sell stuff. Blur has made some "commercial sounding" music? that are now used in ads, but I don't think they were bad. In fact, they were very creative. It's hard not to be influenced by the hype around a song, but songs should only be judged on their quality and originality and nothing else.

I think the red toy might represent Palestine. It would easily explain the cameras and soldiers chasing after it, since Israel and Palestine are of course in conflict. But the toy keeps making noise to not be ignored, I assume, and various people (tourists, nuns, probably symbolic) try to make it be quiet or listen to it. I believe when the daughter didn't want to eat the family's food because of how they looked, she became a worm just the same for the detective. Hee judged the family and thought their food was dirty and unworthy for him not even thinking that the family made sure his food was clean. My interpretation is the woman in the woods is the same woman by the house, his wife. She must have died by being hit by the car (that the man tried to stop), hence the car being old, and the? man was traveling? through various dimensions to find 'heaven' to be with her again and/or stop the accident taking place in the first place. After losing his air supply he too died and so was able to be with her in the afterlife. He is old because he spent his life trying to find her. Very clever Salaff.

The irony is that you can't really predict a ROI within the film industry, it's kind of hit or miss, which is why you have to be a bit mad to work in film and most people are (I'm speaking from experience). Take The King's Speech for example,? no one knew that was going to be a such a huge success for example and then you take "commercial" films such as The Tourist for example, which are meant to be "the whole package" and they totally flop at the box office..

Thank you for making something with excellence in it. It served the story genre well. You could've made any number of concessions to any number of critique points and someone will always just find something else to say. It's apparent in this case that the conception, planning,? and execution were all done very well. Much much more than can be said for many an effort out there. Good job. It entertained. :-)

Yeah -- custom made. But the jackets wouldn't be? too difficult to reproduce. Buy an old biker jacket and then find some white paint and letter stencils at a hardware store. That's what we did! The cardigans are a bit trickier. Have to hire an embroiderer.
