I don't know why people are comparing efforts by comparing how many manpower each side puts in. The eastern front was fought on flat land, obviously the eastern front battles consist mostly tanks, guns, and men. The Pacific front is fought on islands, manpower means nothing if you don't have aerial and naval domination. Japan is the most underestimated major? power in WW2, just look at the Ryukyu campaign alone, they sunk 600+ US ships of all types and 700 US aircrafts.

A WWII T34 Tank is recovered from the bottom of a lake in Estonia. After a little cleanup, it runs! It had been captured by the Germans, and that's why there are German markings. They disposed of it in a lake to stop the Russians from reusing it. It was under several feet of peat moss under the water. The World War I German? service rifle was not the K98, it was the Gewehr 98. The K98 is a carbine, the G98 was not. Karabiner 98 kurz means Carbine 98 short (not compact carbine 98 LMAO). The Kar98k was the standard service rifle of the German Wehrmacht in World War II. There is a Difference between the Gewehr 98 and the Kar98k my friend. By the way, all the abriviations for the Kar98k are as such: K98k, K98, 98k... Kar98k - which ever you choose to use, none of which are wrong.
