Also, who wants to use full-screen apps on a dual-monitor desktop? I thought the whole? purpose of Windows was to have multiple "windows" open! If I've got a 1920x1080 monitor, I don't want to drag my mouse all the way to the right of the screen to get the "charms" open. What about good old Alt-Tab, which was more efficient in Windows 3.1 than Windows 7? Macs have great touch pads and OS X takes advantage of them. Microsoft should focus on what they do the best - MS Office and business IT.

Show me how easy it will be to work with a 60,000 line spreadsheet in Excel - linking between highlighted totals of? cells on different sheets and switching back and forth and scrolling through it all effortlessly. Oh, I forgot - there's no tablet-ready version of Office yet, so I'll just draw crude pictures and check eBay. I liked Windows XP, i loved Windows Vista but i skipped Windows 7. Windows 8 is exacty the kind of computer i would make, The design is just great and i love all the? features that connect everything in the computer together. I might even go for a Windows tablet after having owned an iPad for the last year. The funny thing is, i'm writing this on my iPad as we speak haha. I hope Windows 8 gets a lot of app support, and i hope the connection between Tablet and Computer is better than iTunes.

At any rate Apple is on rise. 1) It took Apple 28 years to sell 22 Million Macs. 2) It took Apple 5 years to sell 22 Million iPods 3) It took Apple 3 years to sell 22 Million iPhones 4) It took Apple 2 years to sell 70 Million? iPads Apple is now bigger than Microsoft. Do realize that Microsoft isn't really a hardware company. Hence, MicroSOFT. Instead, 3rd party companies tend to make the computers, phones, mp3 players, etc. So yes, Microsoft "doesn't have a phone" because they don't make phones. They do however make phone interfaces. Frankly, I like the choice of hardware over? one company running the show for everything. Where's Apple's gaming console? APPLE IS BEHIND THE TIMES OMG. Anyway, it's all preference. Linux has substitutes. If you wish to work on media applications, Apple products are very easy, and most artists (that I know of) use Macs for media. Most Businesses I know of use Linux for stability and security. After a point, there's no reason to have Windows in existence, other than gaming. For which? one could have dedicated consoles.

i think this is merely a case of people being scared of change, besides, you can still use a normal desktop in Windows 8, Metro is just a new start menu... And you don't have to upgrade if you don't want ffs, this? isn't apple, if Windows 7 is anything like XP, it will probably continue to be supported be Microsoft for almost a decade, and even then, as long as developers are making Windows 7 compatible apps, you don't have to upgrade

Like I said, I can overlook the start menu thing - I sure hate giant buttons when a small text menu will do fine,? but i have a windows key on a keyboard. The part I don't like, and MS will confirm this, is how they've pretty much removed all power user abilities. Example - You can no longer assign an IP. seems mundane, but you have to pay a lot more for that feature in the corporate, or business, or whatever the name is version. Lets not forget that there are no backwards compatible programs.

It actually is quite intuitive... You're just used to something else. The place the mouse ends up the most (not on purpose) is the corners. Where was the start menu?? The bottom left corner. How do you get to the start screen? ... The bottom left corner. You need a picture to tell you? On my phone I know to swipe down from the top to get to my notifications and my task manager but there's no indication there? It's just that you're tooooo stubborn. Btw Windows 8 = a little? metro and Windows 7 +.

Although this review was really informative about the new metro start screen, it left out a lot of the new features that were added to the desktop. The new metro screen isn't supposed to be how you use your computer, it still revolves around the desktop. Because windows 8 has been designed for tablets and PCs alike they've added this metro interface mainly? for tablet and touch screen users.
