in 1973 at 16 I was preparing to travel across Canada,stopped in a second hand store on the east side of Grande Prairie,Alta.(my hometown)...I found an old buffalo skin robe that I thought would work well for my Feb trip to Toronto..and also found an LP by the Band that I took home and played and recorded on my little cassette recorder... they have been with me ever since...a Band with 3 vocalists like Richard,Rick? and Levon..amazing..and Robbie singing Out of the Blue..lights out..what a Band!

Since I heard the news that Levon died, I've been listening to his music and understandably, feeling quite sad. I felt as if he left something unfinished or there was more living he should have been allowed to do. This video gives me closure. The happiness in Levon in this? video is amazing. Seeing him doing what he did best, as well as he ever did it, straight until the end really speaks to how complete his life was. I'm still sad he's gone, but you can't say he didn't live a full life. RIP

Since I first discovered Larry Carlton playing drums on this Vid, and being a Carlton fan, I've watched several uploads of Carlton interviews and guitar lessons on? Youtube. Despite being a guitarist, in his lessons, he teaches novice guitarists to pay significant attention to the drummer. In his interviews he describes one particular drummer as so outstanding that when he hears him play to anything, he hears more than simply the sound of drums & symbols, but a sound similar to playing notes.

Levon Helm never got the recognition he deserved. Not only was he a GREAT fuc ing singer, but he was a very, very good actor. Check him out as Loretta Lynns father in "Coal Miners Daughter"....Also, if? youve never seen "Ther Last Waltz", you are missing the GREATEST Rock n Roll movie ever. It was The Bands final concert on Thanksgiving night 1976. They invited all thier friends...Clapton, Neil Young, Joni,Muddy, Van the Man,Neil Diamond, Ronnie Hawkins and of course Bob Dylan.

that's interesting. it just doesn't look like he's saying "Robbie". However, it does seem like perhaps Robbie's mic is indeed off. First of all, you can barely hear him (if at all). And he keeps? looking over at the sound guy each time he sings the chorus. @ 0:54 he even stops singing after the first part of the note. Then on the second chorus @ 1:38 he plugs his right ear to hear himself better, he keeps looking around, and then Levon yells at the sound guy again. So maybe you're right.

about two months ago i broke three bones in my left leg.. Yesterday i got rid of the plaster and can barely walk at all, but i still tried to do this yoga exercise. The most challenging part was when you were supposed to put a lot of weight on the left foot, that hurt a bit (and the very first thing in this video was completely impossible cause i cant "sit" on my foot), but? i still found this video very nice and helpful.. "The angels laid him away", as Mississippi John Hurt once sang. Glad I saw the Ramble a couple of times, including this past January. A great human being was Levon. I was lucky enough to sit a a few feet from him, and to? see Amy smile him a special, loving smile. Levon has left us, but he left us with some of the greatest music ever. Listening to this album (go buy it!!!) on my drive from work the afternoon Levon died. Levon, we miss you!
