Ah yes, the Multiplane Camera. It's actually the inspiration for something I do in CGI, it's basically a cross between bluescreen and that.? (Saves rendering times as I only need to render one character at a time and then put flat squares with moving texturemaps and transparancy maps together)

These films really showcase the beauty of hand drawn animation. Everything is done on computers now and it looks good, but, I actually prefer the hand drawn over computer. To thdog52 I first went to Disney at 11 in Spring 1979, there were A thru E where E was Space mountain, Haunted Mansion etc. "A"? got you a ride on the horse drawn carriage at Main St, or the Main St Cinema, B was maybe Frontierland shooting Gallery. you could pay 10c or 25c respectively if you ran out of A and B tickets. Suppose you had to pick your top attractions then with the voucher books, suposedly to mimimize lines.

We live 90 minutes south of WDW Orlando and go there often with the grandkids. Its true Walt Disney learned from mistakes they made on Disneyland so they bought more land and did better on WDW. We miss the old rides, too, especially the Sky Lift. After everybody had a fit they've finally put the Tiki Room 8:12 back to the original, (after several years of being assaulted by the awful Gilbert Gottfried bird). Walt's nephew Roy died? so there's no connection with the Disney family anymore.

People dressed nice because it was, and still is to some, a very magical special place to be. More like an Honor. Kinda like why you would dress up to go to church or a fancy dinner. @vfktikipindude Disneyland is detailed? Rides break down all the time. I don't think California Screamin' can last a week without needing a repair. And what brilliant logic makes you determine Disneyland wins related to rides? You have 2 parks. We have 4 plus 2 waterparks and nearly everything you have plus more. The only thing people can say legit about Disneyland is that it is an original and Walt was there. Other than that,? WDW is superior in every way.

I have been to WDW many times, yet never Disneyland. I? am a Disney history and fact buff and I know for a fact that Disneyland is small in comparison to just the Magic Kingdom. In fact, all of Disneyland would fit inside the Magic Kingdom's parking lot and there would still be room to park 500 cars. How bout that?

wdw IS NOT THE SAME PLACE IT USED TO BE. Bigger isn't better. Disneyland has charm and walt's finger prints all over it. Every nuance of Disneyland works well to preserve the disney tradition. Walt Disney World was fantastic for the first twenty years...now it is much to big and impersonal. Take it from? me. I have worked there and seen a downward spiral.

When? I was a 7yr old they read this story at school chicken licken. And it scared the hell out of me, I couldn't sleep. When you think about it, it is a sick story. A group of animals who are lured to their death, one by one by a sociopathic fox, who kills them and eats them. A lot of children stories are unsuitable for children, when you think about it. Actually, the inverse is true. It was the need to get legislators to allow concessions for the creation of EPCOT itself, with the Disney World we know today as the result of Walt Disney's death. Apart from being a showman? and entertainer, he was a capitalist and industrialist that was surging through this age of American development. I've always lamented the fact that Disney's vision for EPCOT was never realized. As a kid, it had inspired me, and I'd hoped to get the chance to live & work there one day. Not to be overly cynical, but I now have to wonder whether the whole "EPCOT vision" thing might not have just been a device to extract needed? concessions from the State of Florida -- mostly, I gather, in the form allowing Disney Corp to run Disney World with relative autonomy, which they did eventually get.
