Having breakfast? This video assumes there are passengers in the trailer while it's under way. Can you imaging what a rear-ender would do to a "structural component" like your drip rails? And what exactly would safety chains do to your roof's paint?? They should have taken a gen 2.5 New Beetle? and added the nicer interior from the gen 3. The gen 2 interior was awful, but the new design is probably as close to the origial as modern saftey will allow. Too bad the styling is putrid.

In my opinion, the original beetle was a very well built car that excelled in its' spartan utilitarianism. It had no AC, barely had any heat, no bells or whistles beyond basic transportation. Owners would add stuff, and even VW started adding things toward the end, but at its root it was a cheap basic car? you could work on. No new Volkswagen can recapture that segment as long as they choose to compete on the basis of features and performance for the same price as every other car on the road.

The picture of my brother's beetle would have been good. He was doing 70 MPH, a deer ran in front of him, he tried to avoid the deer, ran off the road, the car flipped over three times and land upside down in a ditch. He then kicked the windshield out, crawled out and said " wow! not scratch on me. What? a car". Typical German over engineering.

hahahahaa troll. Last beetle I worked on had a seized engine. I got a couple friends to help me out with it. we put a trans jack under the engine, disconnected it from the transaxle, dropped it with the? jack, and lifted the car off the engine WITH OUR BARE HANDS. it took 2 hours to replace the pistons and sleeves and reassemble the car. My buddy later crashed it into a ford focus. the focus was destroyed. beetle needed a new front clip, but we junked it and bought a replacement for $300.

162 is not poor for a light car that's more about about the torque range. People need to learn hp isnt everything. Torque vs weight is where it's at. My Manx with the old vw 1.6l is fast as hell in a drag race or? light to light around town. My only complaint about modified vw motors is overheating so now I'm shopping for a Subaru ej20.

162 is not really poor at all. Its considered a really good hp number. You have to figure in the power to weight ratio as these cars? are really light requiring less power to move it. 162hp in this car is like 300-400hp in a regular street car. With 162hp it should easily run 12s in the 1/4 mile.

I saw one of these cars on the lot the other day and I could not believe that they wanted 30k for this car. VW needs to remember that regardless of all the extras and the turbo engine this will? always be an economy car. This car is worth about 20k fully loaded . I like this guy's reviews of the driving experience of cars, ALTHOUGH, the biggest thing he fails to mention this review is that the Beetle Turbo comes with an independent rear-suspension. The 2.5 model only comes with a beam-axle rear-suspension. Plus, he says the front suspension is different between the 2.5 and turbo and it's essentially the same front? struts between the two models.

I bought the 71 Super beetle with a flat front window, it's made in? Germany with CA, tags but i bought here in Mexico has a new engine new tires but one problem over 40mph it vibrates and shakes like crazy did some research i change the steering shock and rotated the wheels still does it, tomorrow i will try changing the bushings see what happens.
