I'm a foreigenr, and DEEPLY looking forward to joining the USMC. I don't see it as a United States protection force only, but as a world-wide police, they're deployed in a lot of parts of the world. Battle near Vinh Huy - During Operation Union II, 6 rifle companies from the 5th Marines located a large enemy force 1000 yards ahead across an open rice paddy. The entire Army 31st RCT literally died holding back reinforced Chinese units as Marines retreated over a bridge that was blown up by enemy forces and rebuilt by Army engineers. At the end of the war the Army units were called cowards for not picking up their dead. The? Army units were literally stuck fighting to the death as Marines retreated and left them there to die, but those Army units are cowards? How does that work? I wish you the best of luck :), but I know in the Marines its a process of tossing the weak and clinging to the strong and respectful, but it doesn't mean pity is on the menu. It means the trainer people will try to help you succeed and if they do their job? right, you will. Quitting is always an option, but if you honestly don't believe you can do it any longer, look in the mirror and see how awesome ya look in that uniform, haha. Military isn't for me, but I respect those who enlist in it. :D

To become Marine Silent Drill, you MUST be an 03xx? (infantry MOS). The length of your duty is 6 months to 1 year I believe. There are strict height, weight, and BMI requirements. They allow Marines to try out and select from SOI.

yes, here in the active duty air force it does, plus u get free tuition assistance. get your bachelors before enlisting or commissioning if u don't already have it, i highly recommend it.....and if u can finish a masters go for it while u can, u won't be able to do much schooling in the service depending on your job...also u can tap into? your g.i. bill on your 3rd year of service if u want, if u plan on still serving for a while. Marine OCS looks like amazing training, go for it

Don't expect a lot of combat if you go admin and enlist in 4 years when the war is likely over.I think as a whole we have earned the respect and "fetish"? from the media.
