I know exactly what that feeling of everyone leaving the house and I am sitting there in the clothes I went to bed in, wishing I was leaving too. I get a hope of "maybe it will happen today" -? 6 months later and over 200 applications still nothing. When will this change? I don't even know how to help myself when my future is up to someone else.

Is that why people are saying Obama is the 'food stamp President' in their campaign speeches?? People have been criticizing Obama for being TOO empathetic by allowing so many people to get extensions on unemployment and more food stamps. This was a major talking point of the Gingrich campaign!

It's been 6 years for me, I know there pain. Pretty much lost everything, but I still haven't given up. I'm educated, I'm a veteran, great work record. I haven't lost hope yet though. Can't? get a fast food job, even when lying on applications. I will survive though, they haven't beat me yet.

What boosted my confidence were those freelance projects which were almost impossible to accomplish due to my lack of expertise on subject. Because of my perseverance and initiative to learn, I was able to acquire new IT skills by investing in books and learning through Youtube for long hours. Some people in the house didn't have a clue on what I was doing. This gave me new doors to practice my newly discovered skill/tools in the? real world. It was very satisfying when I got received payment.

This is why we have always had NO DEBT, lived way below our means, my car is 13 yrs olkd and we make 6 figures between us. I shop at thrift stres, do not travel and any money goes to P metals, land guns food storage and survival supplies, for 3 yrs now we have readied ourselves// I bet ANYTHING these folks had debt ( I know they do, as they "Turned in cars"), though I feel fo rthem, most of them NEVER? saved for this shit!!

But we arent helping people by giving them free money for 99 weeks. Instead of letting people just sit on their asses while they collect unemployment checks we should make it mandatory that? they attend an education program while collecting checks. Or make them work a couple hours a day in the public sector to try to recoup the money our govt gives away. Most of these people got laid off cause they werent providing any value to the employer. Lets give them value, not money.
