I respect your opinion but that doesn't mean I agree with your comfort & safety statement. Maybe? we are not on the same page and have a different understanding of comfort and safety. Memory seats, cruise control, blind spot monitor, backup camera, navigation, break away paddle, airbags with sensor system, tire pressure monitoring system, push start, heated seats, crumple zone, head restraints, traction control, EBD and so much more to name few-- To me they add comfort & make the vehicle safe

There are LED striplights under the car and behind the props, neon wire around the tyres? and inside the telecoms box, and filament bulbs inside the two wall lights. tuner car yes, but it has a high comp motor. this thing is gonna be helluva expensive to make make more powerful. to do a? turbo, the motor will have to be rebuilt. a set of pistons cost about $800- just for the pistons. this reason is why i would not have minded 50hp extra? for a few thousand dollars more. Plus when you turbo a car, all that hard work and money spent will mean nothing without a good tune. honestly 240hp would have been fine-a few bolt ons and 250ish would have been attainable

This review confuses me a tad. Considering that toyota is now racing two of the cars. It makes me worry that toyota is just trying to generate publicity by putting the car out there...which is going to backfire horribly if it can't keep pace with its competitors, no small feet considering it will be up against porsches and corvettes, TT's etc. A drivers car? is fine, but there isn't a single driver who likes watching another fly around a corner while his drifts off the line. It depends on which country actually. If in my place, in terms price and quality, Toyota is much better than KIA or Hyundai. But people also love to buy from KIA or Hyundai for other reasons, say the unique design of the car, the rareness and so on. That also goes to Mitsubishi, people buy EX or EVO but other go for Nissan 350 or 370 or? just simply Vios or Swift or Echo or Sirion. All depend on price, selfish desire, unique design and which is which model is the latest on the go.

Its true that they sadly built this chassis with all suspension and fun while leaving limited room for tuning but they also claimed with a few basic mods it can hit 300whp. After that they stated it gets rough past 300 but you gotta understand that they are trying to? do a revival of the original corolla. Also your 240sx was $23,164 new 20 years ago which is closer to 30g now and it had less power, less torque, more weight. This will be high revving and a smooth powerband stock. Basically an S2K.

The optimal power, low weight and the RWD is great - kind of similar to the 325 BMW E36.? But it all is ruined with the dull look of this car. It has this soulless, cheap and plasticky look to it. In contrast? look at the Lancer Evo VII or even the aforementioned E36 coupe and you'll know what I mean.

Why are you guys arguing about adding more power to this car? From all? the video reviews I've seen, no automotive journalist has ever complained about the lack of power. There's a purpose behind this car and it's not straight line races. Learn a thing or two from these reviewers when they say "fun" "RWD" and "chassis." A turbo or supercharger will only throw off the balance of this car, therefore the spirit and purpose.

My 2012 Civic Hybrid get 55-70 MPG in the city and about 50-55 MPG on the highway. Looks much better than this car and is bigger. Although Im sure I could squeeze more out of this prius if I did the same driving techniques... actually I couldn't because my civic can be EV up to 43 MPH.... while this? car can't do it above 25 MPH.

We know other countries have a wide selection of fuel efficient diesels, but in the US diesel fuel isn't subsidized and cost more than premium fuel. One of the cheapest diesel? powered vehicles in the US is $4,000 more than the Prius C and just the purchase price of the fuel alone is about 10% more for diesel over regular unleaded gasoline. Not to mention, I would trust the reliability of a Toyota hybrid more than any European diesel-powered automobile.

just test drove this car today, the car drives very nicely in the city. handling is tight and actually pretty responsive. suspension is on the firm side and the pick-up is also surprisingly decent for only having 99hp. i haven't driven on the freeway but i think it will do fine... the car only weighs around 2400# but it doesn't feel light at all on? the contrary it feels weighty & grounded, this car is perfect for daily commuting and running errands around town. my personal grade is A minus.

Well, in short A LOT.. i drive the 10 mile commute to work with two in daily and can get from 40 to 80? mpg (same distance, same roads, same people, obviously same car, etc). So it really depends on how you drive/cruise/brake. HOWEVER, i think there is no way you will not chance how you drive (unless you are determined to do so) given the plethora of information in the two displays, including a score you get between stops. If you pay the slightest attention, you cannot help but improve over time

The 2 litre is great then. But you will have more mileage with a? Prius but with significantly less power. Something to consider, when you drive on normal roads and the battery runs out, the engine is rather weak so being bogged down could be a problem, especially on hills. Otherwise go for the Prius :-) It's a shame your diesel is so expensive tho.

The smallest we have is a 2.0 engine. Another problem for me is that I live in a very high altitude, so cars feel pretty laggy and bogged down, so I do need a more powerful engine.The reason I'm considering a prius is? that the electric engine won't be affected by the lack of oxygen because it doesn't need to burn anything to put out power.

No no, don't get the 2.5, I've only heard bad things about that piece of crap engine. We don't even get that in Europe,? I don't know why you guys have that. That's why some Americans think VW is unreliable cos of that rubbish. Get the 2 litre. I don't know if you get the tsi's, but the 1.4 tsi has the power of a 2 litre and really good mileage.

Here the golf is a 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine, or the same diesel as in the jetta. the diesel jetta is also about $22k, which is quite a bit when paired with almost $4 for a gallon of diesel, no matter what the saving with a few extra mpg are.... in all honesty I'll probably get a 2.5 jetta... my car right now has? a 3.1l v6, so really anything means better economy for me. lol

It depends on the hybrid. That's true for most hybrids but you can drive like a total dick in the Prius and still get good mpg.? I know because my mother owns a Prius and I've driven that thing like a mad man.

You must get the Golf? But surely the Jetta, but that? would have a 2.0tdi. VW made the American Jetta more affordable for the American market. But ya with expensive diesel, you guys are a bit screwed. It's a shame really, cos diesels put out a lot more power than hybrids for the same mpg... Good luck!

If you have a bit of a heavy foot, it's probably better to get a Polo tdi, because to get low mileage on a hybrid you really have? to pussyfoot it. I managed 5.2 l/100km in an Audi A1 tdi on the german autobahn cruising at around 140/150 kmph (4 hour 30 min drive)
