That engine ISN'T everything. Why do you think John Hennessey chose to put it in a modified Lotus chassis rather than simply using it in a Corvette? He chose to put it in a lightweight, agile British chassis because he knew it would produce a car with better performance. A 1000bhp Hennessey Venom GT will be quicker than? a 1000bhp Hennessey Corvette, and it's not the engine that makes the difference.

So power is everything? The way the car handles, how it breaks, where the center of gravity is, the steering, the suspension, how the driver sits in the car, and? so on. That is JUST as important. Without that you can just put the massive engine in a Audi A3 and your argument would still be valid. This car would be just as much fun with a BMW M5 engine for instance, but just a bit slower. It's a combo of British and American engineering. Not everything just is or isn't.

He makes some excellent points, but at the same time he makes it sound like there is nothing to say about writing unit tests. That isn't true. Tests should be short, clear and focused. They should mock out dependencies and test one thing at a time. Otherwise you don't know where to look when they fail. Writing good tests doesn't happen automatically by writing? testable code and writing the tests first. It takes practice and thought.

I love these Clean Code Talks with Misko too, he's resolved? a lot of issues for me. View the latest one for examples of why static methods, global state and singletons make bad seams and make code harder to test. Even when you can mock the state, its an indication that something else depends on it, that tests have to be run in a specific order, and lots of other issues. It's enlightening.

The F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing variant completed ship suitability testing aboard the USS WASP (LHD-1) off the coast of Virginia in October 2011. Combined, F-35B test aircraft BF-2 and BF-4 accomplished 72 short takeoffs and 72 vertical landings during the three-week testing period.

Navy wanted a two engine fast jet, marines wanted a single engine to make stvol? and more of a bomber jet, air force wanted single engine multirole fighter/bomber. the nozzles would need to be able to move and provide enough thrust. Seems like a tall order while maintaining stealth. I wouldnt say the harrier is a perfect design. Its had many problems over the years. You cant take a non CAD built aircraft and just reskin it. Its pretty complex.? You also need to consider that this aircraft has computers that need to be tucked away in it also unlike the harrier. I believe that you would have spent more not starting over.

The Harrier, genius design that is, of course, has killed A LOT of pilots, do to it's complexity in the transition from VTOL to level flight. The system that F-35 incorporates will take almost all of the instability out of these manouvers, with the aid of a lot of inertial computers. The only downside, is that the giant lift fan that is geared with the main engine, has a great deal of moving parts. If one was to fail, it would spell disaster, but that's the? same on just about ANY aircraft.

Some problems with the nozzle concept for Harrier (a French idea BTW) : a) the hot nozzles made a lovely target for IR missiles right in the middle of the fuselage b) it's tricky when the engine sucks in it's own hot air from the exhaust because engines need cool air in to work. In the lift fan scenario the engine exhaust is kept far away from the intakes and the fan? helps to prevent the hot air coming anywhere near the intakes. Having said that the X-32 (Boeing) had turning nozzles.

hey man, ive changed up my build a little bit? and im hopin you could give me an idea of how much power ill make and if the internals could handle it. im getting a borla stinger catback, magnaflow catted x, 2.1l kenne bell at 9psi intercooled, 3.73 gears with tuner, 90mm meter, big tube kit, switch chip upgrade, cold air kit, and 75mm throttle body. the kenne bell kit comes with a boost a pump and a chip, not sure if chips and tuners are the same or what a boost a pump/spark is either

its the cheap and jlt says it lets in the most air. to port a throttle body you get smooth sandpaper and sand the inside of the throttle body right up to the blade(not around the blade). porting throttle bodys isnt much of a gain but an aftermarket one isnt much either. like 1-3hp. 5 speed manual transmission, 99.9% sure like all of them come with 3.55 gears, so 3.55 gears to 3.73 wont be much of an increase. our mustang has the 4at with 3.33? gears and a tune for tranny

all of it sounds good, but... jlt cold air intake is the best, we've talked to bama when we get custom tunes done, (cheaper too). throttle body, intake manifold,? fuel rails, coil packs, and spark plugs will do very little. port your stock throttle body, and get some cmcv delete plates and you get the same gains. we have a lot of what you said but its a big waste of money. but i love your idea on the suspension, and remeber if u have a 5mt youll be going from 3.55-3.73

just gonna? tell you, upper and lower control arms make a big difference. They completely eliminate wheel hop and help you hook up really well. oh and if you're ever in the market for aftermarket shocks... stay away from non adjustables and go for tokico d-specs. non adjustables are hard as a fricken rock. On the other hand, roush suspension kit on the 427's are very nice if you have the money. very well rounded, nice ride
