It? appears as though the band chose not to be compensated for their song, so a similar (and this is the important part) but different song was commissioned and paid for in it's place. Drake's track uses a sample of the REMIX version of Gil Scott-Heron's "I'll Take Care Of You", Originally written by Brook? Benton and performed by Bobby "Blue" Bland. It was one of several tracks Jamie XX reworked for the remix album "We're New Here", released shortly before Heron died in May of 2011. Drake's album was actually pushed back until November 15 because of three sample clearances. All samples were cleared so they actually had permission to re-use elements of Jamie's Heron remix.
