The PROBLEM with Casio is the Manual.....I? dare anyone to make sense of the WK7500 They do A LOT in a mediocre way. The Drawbar organ has "zipper" noise when changing the drawbar settings live. You get what you pay for..... Now the Previa 330 Piano is the bomb...the rest of the 330.....meh pure Casio

I wish keyboard companies would re-issue classic synths. Guitar companies do it! And they sell very well. It would be wonderful to see "new" CZ synths. I LOVED my Phase? Distortion CZ1000. It had wonderful waveforms to choose from and 8-step envelopes that let you create very interesting and evolving sounds. I hope Casio does very well with this machine but I still would like to see a modern recreation of those incredible CZs.

but no quantizing in realtime, but u can quantize the each whole track on the wk 7500, doesnt work very well for some reason, you loose any expression and sustain for some reason, most probably because? its not real time, i also own a CTK 7000 which is a 61 key version of the WK 7500

i currently own a microkorg sampler, which in fact is able to record sequences with real time quantizing 4,8 and 16 The unit can be connected with standard midi, i use the quantizing sequencer of the microsampler to record my performances from my sinth, the microkorg xl, so when i play back, any slight timing issues are automatically? corrected, i was kinda hoping that this unit would be both in one, as the microkorg xl is better, this is a no go i think

the synth engine sounds? impressive along with it's nasty filter and fast envelopes. but the workstation aspect is garbage. I only want the synth. Casio CZ was excellent and XW-P1 looks to compliment that legacy. Casio should offer a module of the synth only.

Thank you kindly! I started building my synth in 2003, but only could afford a couple of modules. It wasn't until 2005, after college, when I got a job that allowed me to finish building it. As it was in this video - I had about $2200 in it total. I've added several pieces since then. The only? Roland gear here is the Space Echo tape delay - no actual Roland synths. One of my fav synths is my old Roland SH-3 though!

well, it's MIDI in this case; it's going through a MIDI-to-CV (control voltage) converter. You can connect any device that outputs pitch control voltage to this synth. I really wish I had a Minimoog or something that had CV outputs on it - CV control IS? better than MIDI control. There is a noticeable difference in the "feel".

If you only have one you do not need a mult. The mult is there so you can split the keyboards CV and Gate and send it to several other devices. If you have only one tone source and one envelope generator all you 'need' is the keyboards cv and gate out. You can run anything through a mult. Anything you wish to split and send? to multiple places can be sent through and split with a mult.

Depends on the synth. You don't need to deal with patch cords at? all with something like a Yamaha Motif, just run some cables to an amp or powered speakers. For a modular synth, you need to wire it yourself, because there's no presets as such.

@sinetravel that would require a basic microcontroller, analog switching chips and it wouldn't be that hard, I guess purists would rather just have everything in the analog domain and the cable system offers that flexibility where space and asthetics isn't at a premium. I'm actually hoping to design an analog synth based on the MFOS ultimate but doing away with all the cabling. I am sorry to post twice, but... I often recognise synth sounds from individual groups in certain periods, and often never from other groups. Is this because groups wish to use their own sound and not be accused of copying? If 2 people buy identical synths will they produce the same sounds? Or can you manipulate a synth? to produce unique sound? Can an artist "own" the rights to a sound, like a lyric - ie if my record ends up with the same bleeping sound as your's can you sue me for plagiarism?

I have seen pictures of Clarke's studio full of contemporary equipment, but as these machines obviously did a perfectly good job, would it be common practise to continue to incorporate them? I think there are books? about designing synths, but I can't tell you any titles off hand. Of course, to design your own synthesizers from scratch requires real electronics knowledge. There are several companies that sell kits, and that might be more practical. I'm sure Google will find those for you.

I liked how it turned out, but it starts to lose it a little towards the end. Comment if you want, but I already got an A on it so I'm pretty much satisfied.
