from what I understand nerve tissue (including the brain) doesn't heal (exactly), it scar's. However the brain is very adaptive, and other areas? can often adapt themselves to do what the now dead portion of the brain used to be in charge of. I believe this is primarily what the recovery, and therapy of stroke, and other patient's with brain damage involves. Can anybody else more knowledgeable corroborate or correct me?

Haven't paddled in Missouri. If you wiped out...? I'd suggest you could probably benefit from some formal instruction in white water paddling. All of us learn responses to cope with falls on land that actually work against us when in a canoe. You kind of have to unlearn the land instincts and adopt reflex actions that will get you out of trouble using the paddle on the water. Not easy to learn on your own but good instruction will sure help.

The cedar canoe is a one off. I had an old cedar plank canoe I restored and loved to paddle. I took the lines off that one, lofted it out on paper, produced a table of offsets, turned that into a form and then made the cedar strip canoe you see in the video. That is the only one ever produced from the form. Nice canoe, it paddles as great as it looks but it's not? for beginners. Glad you liked it.
