You just have to really want it, and save your money. And there are plenty of cheaper turbo cars you could get these days. Like an eclipse/talon or? an srt4 or older wrx etc etc.

I? feel with this particular sti, the spirit of the original was lost. the 2007 model year sti was the last to really resemble that original road racer with the signature exhaust growl coming from one exaust (not 4). subaru needs a rethink

the new sti is nice saloon model that is but i have noticed that 0-60 times and top end have gotten worse, i had a 97 sti import which 0-60 id get 4.3 secs easy and top end jsut kept goin, i hit 150mph and it was goin strong still. it did ever seem to flaten out at all! was pretty? much standard too!

I like it, but I picked up an 08 WRX for $21,000 out the door. I imagine that one out the door would be somewhere around $42,000. I'm fairly certain I could spend a lot less than $21000 to upgrade my car and blow the doors off of that one. Hell, changing to the 09 turbo gets me most of the? way there and that's only $1,000.

I don't normally agree with Motor Trench. I think they mooch cars from MFG's and then return the favor by writing glowing reports about the cars. Which I think is pretty cheesy. But I do like the WRX STI and I think it's a great car. But it's now $36,000. (Remember money is no object for Motor Trench because they don't pay for the cars they test. lol ) They left out the MazdaSpeed3 which is only $27,000 and? has the same space and equally entertaining to drive.

Victor's project and goal comes to fruition as he beats down his loud mouthed cousin's Z06 with his little 4 cylinder STI. 650 whp on the dyno with pump and meth is nothing to joke about and this is one impressive STI.

The oil filter is post oil cooler, so any fine particles that made it past the oil sump screen will simply be collected by the oil filter should they make their way out. If anything should be replaced, it? should be the oil pump as it is pre-filter on all EJ series engines. A new oil cooler is definitely not necessary, especially at a cost of over 220 USD.

Right the? 04-05 STi factory wing reduced lift more than anything but on the 06 they added the roof diverter and that gave it around 140 lbs of DF but aftermarket wings can be 300 lbs to over 600 lbs at 140 mph like the Fulcrum Aero I now run.

Also do you know how hard it is to cool a 4cyl boxer? and do you know much harder it is to cool a compact built V8? 06 sti with a gt4088r just pulled motor out to do the build the right way to support that turbo since i was luckily running on oem pistons and rings,i need to do some good pistons and rods, which brings me to my question, should i do a bigger displacement on the block, like BOre or will i run good if i use some STD JE PISTONS with their JSP skirts,im building the? whole bottom end and any advice from you will be greatly appreciated since i seen you do such great work, don't sleep is a waste

@Marshmallowrex I am not sure. I would think though that you may want to add another rad fan, or a oil cooler of some sort because those larger pistons will cause a bit more heat.? Personally I would just keep the same diameter pistons that the cylinders have been bored to. It will save you a ton of wor later in the future.
