It's funny that you're asking me about The Stand, you know. I'm, in fact, watching the fourth and final episode of the miniseries at this very moment, and it's indeed amazing. You said that they "did it right" with The Stand, and? maybe that's because King penned the teleplay. Have you watched The Shining miniseries? It was also produced by King and made 17 years after Kubrick's film. I'm sure this miniseries is terrific, but I haven't watched it yet.
