I disagree. The government (that's us) put out a tender which specifically states that which we will pay for. If we do not want immigrants hired, then that would be in the contract. Any company promising to do the work, and who were found to have broken the contract, would be fined and/or imprisoned. In my opinion, those who deserve free education are those who prove they contribute back to society, will acquire the skills to get a good job &? be able to pay back into the system that gave them that free education. Eventually, a good system will show results of higher motivation and greater learning curves in students, who will work harder to achieve a free post-secondary education. (1/3) I'll explain what I think. There's something about having things handed to us for free. Even in high school, there's the knowledge that you can do poorly but education will always be available. That's fine for high school but, when it comes to post-secondary, the ability to have multiple chances on taxpayer's dime does not allow for motivation. You still can't clearly answer how Quebec will afford these massive public spending demands without relying on tarsands equalization money for the foreseeable future. There is a difference between reasonably affordable education for the economically disadvantaged and free tuition for all. The fact is that far too many? people go to university to take degrees that leave them with few job prospects afterward. i understand why Quebec students protest raise. but the problem is? that NOTHING is free. those costs will eventually be paid by taxpayers, who are Canadians and oil sand. if deficit keeps going up,tax rates would have to increase,which would do nothing good to anyone. The tuition is the lowest in Canada,even after"hike".Not to mention the gov't offers generous loan program.The so called'Hike"is much less than any protester spend at a bar or the glass they broke.(60% Quebecois are on Gov't side.)
