japanese? prison is a lot worse than this
By: djrollzz. on 23 May 12, 06:23:50
easy ? you must be joking ...?
By: aldfjak. on 21 May 12, 16:06:27
I don't have? the stats but I would imagine our prisons have way more people and it would cost way more money to have a guard with a megaphone barking orders 24/7 like that. I'm making an educated guess but US prisons have way more people than guards so its cheaper and more efficient to look them up and let them do their own thing

Poor baby.? Wah. I can't remember these rules.
By: CapitanKurosaki. on 18 May 12, 13:42:00
What a baby. Prison is prison, it's not? "good" no matter where you are in the world, but these seem like minor inconveniences rather than horrendous tortures. I'd rather act like a robot in a Japanese prison than have to live in despair, kill, rape, steel and hide things up my ass just to live day to day like you would have to in an American prison.

By: paisleyyama. on 14 May 12, 11:56:55
cont. the Jp jails are "SO strict" that it was REALLY hard but he said the guards were always fair & he felt safe in the jail b/c of the strict order & control of the guards. He never feared for his life. He said in the US jail, he was very free to just lie around, watch TV, talk on the phone & do his own thing, but he never felt safe. He was always on guard for violence around him. I don`t think that`s a good way to rehabilitate? ppl. It makes them meaner & harder. He left the Jp jail w/respect.
By: paisleyyama. on 14 May 12, 11:51:02
I think the discipline would certainly help create order in chaotic lives of prisoners & it would protect prisoners & staff by keeping violence way down. Plus I`ve never heard of gangs in Jp prisons. That just wouldn`t be tolerated b/c the system rules not the prisoners. Prisoners in Jp prisons are told what to do & how to do every little thing. They are even told how to sit & when they? can talk. But it is fair. I heard an American who had been in a US jail & Jp jail say (cont)
By: frohman3. on 14 May 12, 05:09:38
I seriously wonder if this country controlled prisoners like this, it might actually teach them some? discipline. Make it so that once they're there, they won't want to go back.

Japanese prison guards who roam on patrol DO carry guns, as well as the guards who work in the guard? towers. Please do your research before leaving comments such as this. National Geographic is usually pretty spot on with reenactments. Thank you.
By: toddzy2007. on 10 May 12, 08:03:57
I agree. But I still stand by my original comment, which as " that's how it should be? in prison",? not that HE deserved it necessarily.

I wanna see the whole episode anyone where I could? watch it?

Loss of freedom is pretty fucking serious. Of course one can't simply sentence 3 months for stealing a box. We don't know how that person went about stealing it. Broke into a home? Lifted it during the daytime from a store? Was it salvageable? Crime and punishment is very complicated, friend. Unless you're willing to put the FULL effort into learning more about it, it's not worth it to? make comments and conclusions on the topic.
By: toddzy2007. on 09 May 12, 08:27:34
oh, so that's where you're coming from. I was wondering why you're so angry. stealing a tv? hmm... i think 3 months in that prison would be a reasonable punishment for that crime for a first offence, & repeat offences receiving longer sentences. otherwise I feel the legal system would be being too soft. But we all have our own ideas of what is reasonable, so it's not? worth getting so angry over, is it?
By: MrAmbidex1. on 09 May 12, 06:33:47
the world would be a? better place if we all learned from the Japanese people.

In order to survive an American prison you have to become a person that wouldn't be able reintegrate into society to survive in prison. THEN it becomes easier to live in prison, than society. Judging by your social skills you might be one of those unable to reintegrate. Either way relax bro,? it's the internet.
