Yeah maybe there? is fixed fights, but I don't talk about that, even if there is fixed fights there is a real confrontation beetwen fighters (a warrior spirit) not like UFC, in my opinion UFC is a big blood exibition show, fighting for money at first and for the title and know who is the best for second, PRIDE is fighting to know who is the best first and the notoriety... Gotta remember the ref's in japan had been in amongst mma since the late? 80s with the vale tudo tournaments and pancrease in the early to mid 90s, so they were well educated in when to step in and call the fight. Dont think there has been a crap call (letting a downed fighter be mercilessly pummeled when hes cleary gone) in Pride to my knowledge) Plus there was a silly amount of doctors and ambulances on stand by if anything did go wrong.

i don't think so; knees to the head from the ground helped wrestlers a lot. in ufc many use the fence to get up, in pride they? couldn't do that. so it's pretty even, but i like pride rules more, kicks to a grounded opponent are really making a difference in a real fight.

@childtoucherable1, this is a lie! Cro Cop was great until the violent knockout by Gonzaga. Fedor did great on the US. Hendo too. Rampage? was champ on the UFC and still is a top LHW. Shogun had problems on his knees, but was champ too. Minotauro also did good, and could catch the HW title. But he really has passed his prime. Anderson is champ for a long time and he was not even that good in PRIDE. Lyoto came from Japan too and did great. There are many examples.

It's just the difficulty you're fighting on. The fight is never gonna be exciting if the other guy won't even put his hands up. I recommend fighting the hardest difficulty, since I'd rather see a close fight? and have you lose than pound the opponent into a coma while he doesn't even defend himself. Just give it a shot, it'll make you better at the game.

I have this game (Pride FC - 2002 release) , this game was the best MMA game for it's time (PS2 era) just like? Pride. No UFC game on PS2 came even close to this. Now imagine if Pride was still around and made a PS3 game - UFC Undisputed would of been nothing. Most fighters in this game are unique unlike Undisputed where most fighters have the same kick, combo (if any) & submission moves. Awesome game. Yes the Pride 2003 GP game was only released in Japan.

I absolutely believe that about Pride, but I think 85% is a hugely inflated number unless? we are counting EVERYTHING illegal as PED's, like painkillers, and pot. I do think there are probably plenty of people managing to cycle off of steroids or HGH at the right time, or have gotten crooked doctors to prescribe TRT when they don't need it. I love the purity of the sport, and I wish nothing but failure on fighters who put others at risk to get ahead.

there were major weight differences in Pride yes (usually? Sakuraba), but umm Wandy outweighed Cro Cop for their fights. Wandy weighed in at 225 to Cro Cop's customary 220. Can't call the post Gracie era the dark ages. in the states maybe, but the rest of the world was watching Pride during the Sakuraba Era (the man who ended the Gracie era.) Remember your history bro Saku beating Royce and the entire 2000 Grand Prix for that matter brought MMA to it's first mainstream outside thes states.

I agree that this is much better to watch. But in defense of the ufc stomps and knees to the head can cause some nasty concussions and concussions effect mental health sometimes permenantly. Elbows on the other hand cause cuts which could end a fight but cuts can easily be stitch and don't leave the fighters? with permanent brain damage.

still hurts to this day that pride fc is gone same as dale earnhardt dying for others.really loved japanese fans who never talked or booed during fights and you could get a main event fight to open the show. saw every pride? fc event from 3 till the end. long live the greatest mma production ever

Elbows weren't allowed because they easliy caused cuts which lead to stoppage even if the fighter is full of energy and able to fight. Stomps and soccer kicks don't cause? that much cuts so they were allowed. See, thats the main difference between PRIDE and UFC. PRIDE wanted their fighters to fight for as long? and as good as they can and earn PRIDE (Hunt-Kohsaka - perfect example) while UFC tends to prefer the spectacular slaughterfest, at least they portrait it so - no sport anymore!

I just don't feel the spirit of MMA fight like ufc than prde fc. Way better representative of MMA than casino rip off ufc. This had sport and spectacle of martial arts show what more can you ask for. Don't forget peoples the pride fc formula is reviving back to CCF bushido? july 23 don't forget. Keep MMA genuine and different!
