Actually, retention rates have improved in 43 states thanks to the massive expansion and improvements to the grant and loan systems. So no, more students are not dropping out. The President has actually made college more affordable for more people despite it not getting any cheaper. And you're wrong about the direction of money pertaining to foreign affairs.? Improvements to N.C.L.B. mandated that the exact opposite happens, money was taken from the drawdown in Iraq and invested in education.

I care a lot more for the system at the roots, the public school system is what suppose to build the foundation, it suppose to inspire people to acquire higher education. But our public schools are trashed, funds have been taken from schools and placed into Iraq? war. School books are older than anyone's car, and still has Pluto as a planet. And now even in the higher education, Tuition has tripled, more students are dropping out cause they simply can't afford it.
