The food is good. I'll give you that. Lots of great places to eat. But the shopping is junk unless you are looking for items you can buy at the mall, which in that event you can buy at home. All the junk they sell you at the markets and shops are exactly that, cheap junk. And the beach... horrible. It looks OK from the road but they dumb raw sewage into the waters in Pattaya. Many reports of skin rashes from? swimmers due to the high pollution levels.

The info is all over the internet, most families are horrified when they get to Pattaya and their children are exposed to the filth and ungodly amount of prostitutes there. But nice try at a spin to save Pattaya's image, as if it had a positive one to begin with. Many travel agents have stopped promoting Pattaya as a family destination. The locals have been attacking tourists and beating them for being around their scam operation with a camera. The police and the highest ranking city officials are involved with this scam. do not rent a jet ski on pattaya beach there is a very high chance of being scammed out of thousands of baht and threatened with violence if you protest. TAT the tourist aurthority of Thailand would prefer to pretend the problem does not exist. Local town hall officials hold? the odd meeting but never do anything to change the situation on the beach and the police are no help whatsoever.

Everyone in Pattaya knows about this except Tourist. I love Pattaya and it is a wonderful place to visit, I'v been living here 10 years now and visiting for over 20. Wan and Pete lived right across the hall from me for 11 months at the old Skytop. No bar per se back in those days. I think it was a great idea of Wan's and her sister's--for Skytop, for the customers who stay there, and for the girls themselves. Very? little turnover in this bar which indicates that it's very well managed. I also cannot speak highly enough of Georgio and his tailor shop. I avoid buying clothes like the plague but I bought 10 shirts from him this year. Enough said.

We had a manager quit on us here at my Naklua condo community and I was then temporarily the only survivor of our three man committee.
