This is exactly right. The virus/worm/malware? is saved on the hard drive, which stores information even when the computer is turned off (see my video on hard drives and RAM on YouTube for more details on this). The virus gets included in what the "baby learns" and continues to be a problem.

And I know alot of java and my game is just something I do on the side and its code isnt as simplistic as you think. If you don't think JNode counts as an operating system written in Java, then you can't even write one in C since you can't configure special purpose registers in it. Give up, you were never right.

I see you deleted your next comment. Perhaps you decided to actually look up Maxine VM and realized what a fool you are. Anyway, if JavaOS isn't "Java" enough for you, try JNode. The only parts that aren't written in Java are the minimum required to load and boot the rest and allow Java code to interact? with hardware.

Just search the Insanelymac and tonymacx86 forums, you'll find plenty of relevant info. I myself managed to install OS X 10.6.7 on a Acer Aspire laptop, and it's been really hard and I would have given up long ago if I didn't have a reason for doing so. But yeah, basically search around and you'll find information relevant to your hardware. What worked for? me WILL NOT work for you, unless you have the same laptop. I used iATKOS L3, btw. Search around the piratebay.

Windows generally has lots of special offers for academic use and ect. That makes it significantly cheaper. Plus the $30 is meant to be for upgrading only from leopard. Though I think I read you can? use it like a full install but then your probably breaking the license agreement and might as well compare it to stealing Windows 7.

Good concept, poor execution. Sony did something similar in one of their old handhelds with that MagicOS or something like that. Also what ronwoch said, the 'lassue'? is very annoying for some reason. I'll keep my Windows 7.

Leaving the "OS" part of the title aside... This is not really original, as it still uses the Desktop paradigm, only with a third dimension added to it. But either way, looks like I'd spend more time making it tidy than the system doing it? for me, so I can focus on the actual activities I'd be willing to perform. We can all agree, it's a nice and fun environment though. Just neither original nor practical.
