Official Nurburgring "benchmark" days would be a ridiculous idea. Who would want to take part in it. The vast majority of cars are NOT sold on what lap times they can theoretically produce. If such events were arranged, they would be responsible for rules and safety. Which is why the Ring was closed in the first place. It just isnt safe. On average 1 person dies every month on public days. It is common for the track to be closed several times a? day for cleanup, repair, and medical intervention.

Oh the Corvette, Cadillac and Viper all had the benefits of closed track, full standing race crew setting the cars up speciffically for the track and LeMans race ready tyres. The only? handful of pictures Ive seen of the ACTUAL car shows full rollcages that requires a full car rebuild to install. Which allows for further modifications. Their interiors are stripped out and replaced with Sparco Evo2 race gear. These Nurburgring runs are misleading mediastunts at best.

i love watching these clips of the ring , and this is a favorite, but imo you have to take them with a grain? a salt so to speak as far as the times go, no doubt if we all had a team of engineers and tyre suspension guys working on the car, not to mention spending days at the ring we could knock 10 /20 seconds off the times(maybe), not saying this happened with the vette but every car has different preparation so it`s hard to compare.

would`nt it be nice if all cars? doing the ring had a standard practice session, let`s say 3 laps and one fast lap, keep factory tampering to a minimum, say a maximum of 30 minutes to check fluid levels, tyres,etc, the reason i say this different companies/teams brag about times, but if one car comes straight of the showroom floor and does a run, another brand with 10 suspension experts,3 guys to tune the motor & spends 3 days, in this scenario someone will have an advantage, not a true test.

@wrifraff The reason why is because the supercharger isn't loud enough to hear the only possible way you could hear it is if he accelerated slower so the engine wasn't as loud. But also look at the acceleration and you'll? know it's there

We should not confuse separate categories when it comes to the Radical SR8. Also, the Zonda? did it 2 months after the Ferrari so, at the time, the Ferrari was quickest in its category. Do also note that the Zonda is a much smaller platform that is about 600 lbs lighter than the Ferrari. It should be faster just because of the weight difference.

You have to look at each car. The 599 is almost 3000 lbs while the Zonda is only 2400. Let's have them try it? with the same curb weight and see what happens... Remember, these are production based so are built on the road going versions. While the Zonda is quick, Ferrari deliver much more than just performance numbers.

The f12 is much lighter, faster, and has a better aerodynamic design than the original 599 so you can't really compare it to that time. Also that? time was not set by a driver from ferrari unlike the time of the 599xx. The 599xx uses the same basic design as the updated magnetic suspension in the the f12. Everything they improved for this car they have improved for the f12, power, weight, aerodynamics, brakes, gear changes ect. I don't necessarily think it will be faster but it should be close.

The F12 would be much slower. The stock 599 did 7:47 meaning this one is 50seconds faster.? Although there isn't much weight difference, much of the weight in this 599xx has gone into chassis hardening, better suspension and all sorts of stuff. Also the 599xx costs >£1,000,000.

Die BoP bei den GT3 ist so ausgelegt das die Kisten 9 Runden fahren können und dann tanken müssen. Dafür ist dann auch der Tank ausgelegt. Beim Verbrauch hat Audi geschummelt. Die hatten nen 120 Liter Tank aber der musste nicht voll gemacht werden um 9 Runden? weit zu kommen. Dementsprechen konnten die woanders Gewicht weg nehmen da die ja mit 120 Litern im Tank eingestuft wurden. 20-30 Kilo macht einiges aus. Außerdem konnten die beim Tanken Zeit sparen.

Naa don't thionk it was a language prob, since it was an international event and therefore english is the language of the race. despite that, race took place in germany (western part) where english isn't a "foreign language"; at least not for the upper 2/3rds (according to education) of the population. Even in the eastern parts of germany english is spoken widely. No, I think there was a? communication prob: Marshalls don't look TV during race, though at least some of them should, obviuosly.

Thats what it looks like. I have been trying to figure out the mount, camera, and location it was mounted. Mount= probably like you said some sort of? gyro mount, Camera= probably goPro, Location= most likely on the tank but me wouldnt be able to tuck in. Have you found anything else? I can't say I like the incipient tank-slapper (2:10 mark) but otherwise a good, clean duel of the perennial "point and squirt turbo" vs "momentum" ... if the setup of the Caterham could get rid of of the loose tail, surely it would be quick enough to make? the gap on the Porsche and stretch it out. Presumably the 996 was on road tires and just didn't have the grip for apex speeds, or the driver wasn't familiar enough to risk pushing into unknown turns.

And still FM fans believes that their? game is even close to a GT5 what comes to actual circuit modelling. Great game, Forza is, no denying about it, but for the realism, tracks has to be done right.
