@blondieney In response I'd say, The National's songs are all about portraying the grimey reality, the true emotions in actions, how harsh, false and lonely existence the modern world can be. Taking this into account, as well as the rattling guitars, sharp drumming and melancholic melodies, I really think the way Matt sings compliments and enhances this feeling. Also Matt writes basically all of their material so he is a bit of? a God.

I'm gonna be honest... I got a little tired of bands after I listen to them a billion times and see them live. The National, my goodness. I will never lose my obsession for their sound. They are so unique, and just can't get old to me. I just saw them for my 14th birthday, and I got front row seats. Afterword I got to meet? the band and get their autographs.
