You're allowed to say that (have you ever seen the Mac vs PC ads). They are targeting GDocs here, not YouTube or their search (or anything else). Have you used GDocs? It is simply? shocking. The ONLY good feature is the seamless syncing, but Office Apps provide something very similar anyway. This is a corny video to prove a very good point, only a fanboy could say GDocs is better than Office.

You know the best part? This can happen, for real. I have a Live ID, my gf has one. We both use skydrive and have a directory which the other can access too, makes it easier to share stuff. I found this video a bit underwhelming, to be honest. Some of the ideas are cool, like the kitchen wall and the recipe thing, but most of the other things in this? just felt like futuristic fluff. Of course you can use windows live accounts for many purposes, I listed some :P (ok i missed out games for windows live but are you really going to shout at me about that?). I was just making the point that xbox live accounts can be linked to many other services. I did not know that steam got hacked simply because I am not much of a pc gamer, but that is a bit off topic isn't it? You're still missing the point. Microsoft is WAY MORE innovative than apple. The difference is that apple will spend money only on things that it can sell to the end user. On the other hand, msft has hundreds of projects that get little press time. That's why msft is one of the largest players at Siggraph, and apple is nowhere to be? seen in such innovation conferences. Just look at Surface, kinect, barrelfish, photosynth, flickr streetview, singularity, C#, voice-voice translation, etc, etc.

And saying Apple is good at buying established technologies to use as there own, thats a normal thing in the tech or business world. 3D led is not clear enough? making the screen transparent is not going to be cost effective as compared to further researching on the LED technology and improve it to make it more clear and cheaper. In example, from the LED technology that was already available, pay some more research and apple got the AMOLED, then from that pay a little more and get Super AMOLED. Why not pay a little more and get Ultra AMOLED,? instead of researching on this transparent crap that will be sold for a few thousands

Problem with 3D interfaces is while they look awesome, they are normally much slower to use than a traditional mouse/menus. Most of the content you are accessing on a? computer is 2D (Mostly text/images/video). Maybe they would be useful for interacting with 3D objects but even then 3D is often easier because it's easier to be more accurate in 2D (organic 3d sculpting might be better). Your hands would get tired fairly quickly too.

We've seen transparent displays and head tracking before, this? is just Microsoft's implementation, no scratch that, a tech demo. I'm pretty sure this won't reach consumer products.
