It's not the ideal mic for that, no. You really can't scream into this mic. It does not handle loud noises well. It's good for podcasting as you can tell from this review but try to use it for loud vocals in music and it will fail. I know because I already tried. You are going to want to save your money for? something better. I've heard the shure sm7b is good for metal vocals. But you will have to spend more money and it is not a usb mic, it requires lots of gain.

This is nice...BUT the Swedish version is so much better! I wish awesome foreign songs didn't have to be made into English to gain worldwide popularity. Why can't we all be multilingual song listeners? Listening to only those all-English chart-toppers grows rather dull and boring after a while, and it means you miss out on REAL cool songs like Mikrofonkåt. This song is, however, still mostly better than most other attempts to make? foreign songs English.
