But in my opinion, M.E. is just a different type of game. Whereas your game, Doom (one i unfortunately haven't? played), is much more combat intensive, Mass Effect is RPG/Story intensive. It is unique, imo, because it turns the actual story into a game by allowing players to choose different aspects and see how their choices reflect later games. But to be honest, comparing doom to mass effect is like comparing Portal or Myst to Battlefield or Crysis. All great games, but not really similar

Ok,? well Elvis made rock n roll, but the Beatles are the most popular rock stars, and yet I like Nine Inch Nails better than either lol. I don't see the point in arguing who made what unless someone is ignorant enough to say that a piece of shit franchise like CoD was the groundbreaker for fps's. If that's the case, continue your hating lol. Games don't need a great storyline to be good. Some games, like HL2, have great story and great gameplay, and thats a great balance.

Hehe.Well,the thing that bothers me the most is that people just won't accept that Id Software really is the founder of the FPS? we know today.That's really the truth,not my opinion whatsoever,but pure proof.And to say that their games are shallow because they don't have a significant storyline is just being ignorant.And in the end of the day,it doesn't matter how good the storyline is,if the gameplay itself isn't worth anything,the game can be ranted as worthless.

AFter looking at your feed, I can tell you fiercely defend game mechanics over graphics and story? lol, which I respect. As someone who agrees with you on many levels, I have to say Mass Effect and Skyrim (apparently two games you hate) are my exceptions, for many reasons I don't expect you to understand. Nice to see someone's still holding on to the GAMEPLAY aspect of gaming, though. If i ever won the Megabucks...id buy out and revamp M.E.'s shit :P

Why don't you like the color pallete? Shooting in ME3 finally improved upon what there was previously, but you have to keep in mind that Doom is a dedicated shooter whereas Mass Effect was originally an RPG with shooter elements, with more effort being put towards the latter throughout? the series. And I agree the gameplay is unfortunately kinda dull, but they really did amp it up a lot in ME3 and i love the interactive way the story takes place, making decisions a unique gameplay experience

Ignoring the argument you are having, I must ask why you think the entire series is crap. I adore the series, having? the character Legion tattooed on my ribcage (8 hours of endurance!), but I will certainly admit its faults of: Mediocre and easy gameplay Lack of free-roam or immersion A pretty typical storyline A terrible ending game to a trilogy There are obviously more, as any game has its faults, but overall I think the series did a lot right and despite ending terribly is one of my favs
