You are correct when you say that we don't "need" Mary to pray for us. But that doesn't? mean that it is wrong to do so! You can pray directly to God, to Jesus and that is very good! But there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with praying to Mary and the Saints in we are asking them for their intercession - for they are alive in Heaven, one with our Lord Jesus Christ and can take our prayers to God and Jesus. All who are in Heaven united with Christ can hear us - there is no division there.

Some churches have prayer lines, sick lists and the like for just this reason, God works through people, He always has as far as I know. Good to hear. I was at an open jam and had a 15 year old kid come up. We played the basic blues song and the kid was surprisingly good. I asked him what he wanted to play and he asked if I knew any Santana. After that it was "Do you know any Clapton?" By now he could probably blow me off the stage. I think they were just trying to give the fans a? different twist on the song, which is cool. Clapton's voice lends it an aged soulful raggedness that Winwood couldn't do and which works well with the song. Anyway, we get to hear them both so that's the best possible scenario.

Yes they do. When Gandalf is rescued from Isengard, the eagle carrying specifically says that he can't carry him forever, and will need to rest at some point; and it only got him as far as Lothlorien from Isengard, and he was basically skin and bone. You'd need to factor weapons, armour, body weight and supplies in as well. Besides that, Mount Doom is not open topped. You have to go inside, which means you have to land, which means you have? to face a massive army because you are so conspicuous.

They didn't have an army. Rohan? was in disarray, the Elves were unwilling to engage in fruitless war and were leaving, Gondor was too busy trying to survive, as were the Dwarves. Everyone was already engaged in war! Besides, even if they could, marching an army from Rivendell to Mordor was not very feasible, and insanely vulnerable to attack. An eagle simply is not inconspicuous, unlike a diminutive hobbit. That's the whole point, Sauron never believed something so puny could defeat him.

be done. No diversion of that magnitude, you'd be detected, a whole freaking army plonked down on that mountain and you'd be simply torn to shreds, Nazgul or no Nazgul. Trolls, Black Numenorians and hordes of orcs can serve as adequate? replacements.
