It was the perfect portrayal of how I see (and hopefully how ACD intended the reader to see) their relationship,? and the addition of Adler as a lesbian just enhanced the communication of the oddity and unconventionality of their bond. I think the term "love interest" should not be part of any discussion about Irene and Sherlock. In the book it is absolutely clear that he does not feel anything like love for her, and it should be kept that way to a certain extent. I was hoping for an obsession,a fascination ,and certainly some tension, but love should not come into it.? One of the brilliant things? about Sherlock is how sharp and mechanical he is. All emotions, and that one particularly, were abhorrent to his cold, precise but admirably balanced mind." You don't have to be a consulting detective to deduce that. Yeah,? I don't think the Irene thing is going to make it worse - in fact I think it will make the show even better because it will give us a chance to see a more human and vulnerable side of Sherlock. If he's not shown struggling more with his emotions and being in conflict with himself, then there's no character development at all.

I agree! I mean, if they really are planning to bring Sherlock into the "modern world," they would do best to humanize him even more. As much as people, or even Sherlock himself would like to think, he is not? a machine and impermeable to emotions such as love, or attraction at least. I for one loved what they did with Irene in the Guy Ritchie movies. Sherlock needs a strong female opponent who can match him step for step.

i think Moffat put there relatonship perfectly when he? said "It isn't love, its just two magnificent predictors, circling each other, in a dark and terrible fascination" i think it is curiosity that sparks an intrest in the two charecters and thats what makes it so interesting, its something different than just a simple boring love story .

I don't think they actually fall in love, because they didn't in the books and neither will they in this Sherlock, I just know it. Otherwise it will completely ruin Sherlock's character. And I will kill Steven and Mark for doing so....if they do. But it's highly unlikely, since they are both huge fans of the original Sherlock Holmes stories. Sherlock and Irene just? respect each other and admire each other and she outwits him, nothing to do with love at all.

I don't think anyone really hated Lara Pulver. I personnally wasn't too keen of Isabella, but I think the writers? are to blame really, Lara was good speaking in terms of acting. Though, it's still difficult to cope with the lunatic change of plan (good, bad, love, hate, decide yourself writers, poor character !), I still don't blame Lara for the fact that her character lacked polishing.

She mentioned this past Sunday that she had a meeting? in between shows as she seemed to be in a rush as I was following her to chat with her. I called her name and got her attention. She apologized for it and said that it was an interview. I wished her luck on it but have no idea what it was for but it was across the street from the Music Center. An odd place to have an interview, audition, meeting but I'm guessing due to her limited time in between the shows plus having to get dinner too.

I agree, Lara was very good in Robin Hood, considering this was her first TV role and I think she? did very well in the show. She has previously done quite a bit of stage work, mainly in the UK. I believe she has a few more projects lined up!

I LOVE Lara Pulver as Isabella!! Isabella is one of my favorite characters from Robinhood. I'm sad to hear that her character gets killed as I'm currently watching the series over in America on BBC America! Lara's currently performing in Parade in L.A. and I've met her in person. She's very sweet and has been really nice to answer my Robinhood questions. She's FANTASTIC as Lucille Frank! Amazing actress! I look forward to seeing her in? more shows in the future! :)

No i know what u mean. Plus she went flat a lot. I think it feels weird to us who have been bred on Sherie Renee Scott's rendition, because sherie sort of downplays the emotion when she sings, sometimes the songs are even deficient of? necessary emotions, you know? I mean, it's still good, but, thats just the way she does it. But this woman, she over emphasizes the emotion. Which is good, too! It's just a culture shock. You know what i mean?
