BILBOA, Spain (CNN/ATLAS) - High winds in Bilbao, Spain, made normally routine landings treacherous for airplanes Wednesday. Some airplanes were able to land, making for a bumpy ride for passengers. But at least four other flights had to be diverted from the airport. Several Spanish coastal towns were hit with windy weather, but there was minimal damage.

Those airliners do not come in at 100? km/h IAS. More like 120-140 knots, which is closer to 250 km/h. As for the wind speed that day, I couldn't find it listed anywhere online, but airliners typically land in winds up to ~50 kts, with crosswind components up to ~30 kts. That's quite a bit of wind. And even these numbers are just the airlines' operating limit, not the tested limit of the aircraft. By the way, I'm pretty sure that vid has been sped up. Lots of clues make me think that.

NO! your wrong, this is actual footage, that's how dangerous the winds were, and you are supprised because the? plane is so sensitive to the wind, WELL OFCOURSE IT IS!!! if the windshear is powerfull, try throwing a paper plane in the wind see what happens, THE PLANES ARE BIG, and can "fight" with a lot of situations, but if mother nature throws te big weapons , you're just a paper plane in the wind .

Also you will have to come in faster because in? a turn the wings have to create more lift then in level flight. Add wind that is unpredictable because of the hills. This could be a tricky bit of flying.

There are many small outfits and new one starting up while others are shutting down. Low pay? to start is true for almost any job. You got to put in the time and work your way up. Please remember that you will be doing something you love. If your record stays clean, it will not, but keep it clean. No minor offense on top of that. Also, it is not normal but sometime necessary to straighten out at the last second. If you are landing on a short runway, you want to land as soon as possible, at the? beginning of the run way with no excess speed to bleed off. So speed and height are important at any short runway. Do not take what is being posted on You Tube as facts! I personally know pilots that fly for regional airlines that make around 35 to 45K? per year. I am talking about captains. They used it as a stepping stone to get the necessary turbine hours to get into the majors. If you want to get into the airlines, you will need a BA degree, no police records, no DUI, good payment record to show that you are a responsible person. O yes, short hair. LOL. At least 1200 hrs with twin and turbine hrs.

What he actually meant and that is in fact happening here in Miami and many other cities in US, is that only one airline is flying to TG and for example here in Miami, only American is flying there due to the airport? condition. For example here in Miami there is only one aircraft that flies to? TG and that is American airlines. I think I have flown on this plane several years ago when it had a different paint scheme on it. If it is the one I am thinking about it has a passenger compartment in the rear of the? plane and then a cargo compartment in the front with a moveable bulkhead to separate them. Kind of strange as a passenger getting on the rear of the plane and only seeing about 10-12 rows of seats and a bulkhead. Much more comfortable that the Hawker Siddley that also operated in Canada's North by Calm Air.

I was on that flight, and the basic instructions were also given in English, but they were very brief - something like "We are? having a technical difficulty - crew, prepare the cabin for an emergency landing". AMC airlines MD-83 crash landed at Karachi International Airport on 25th December 2011 0950Hrs. Nose landing gear was unable to extend and hence aircraft had to perform nose gear up landing. It was a charter flight from Tabuk(KSA) to Quetta(Pakistan). Due to low fuel emergency was declared and aircraft landed at runway 25L. No injuries were reported.
