Rai means lightning or thunder? in Japanese. They pronounce Rai similar to how you would pronounce Rye. But of course most Americans read it as RAY-dan. The reviewer was simply using a more Japanese pronunciation of the name.

@xXE4GLEyEXx that is? the full power the vita is no more powerfull than a standard android phone and it serves sony rite for tryin to beef it up in hardware spec's. MK9 graphic's on the vita are total crap maybe the 3DS could handle it after all. I wont be getting a vita it's overpriced and over hyped the graphic's just look the same as the ps2 it will fail it already is the server for network play isnt even working for MK9 so you cant even download the trophy's typical sony

I was 1 years old when the first Mortal Kombat came out... I was 7 when I first played it in a arcade... The good all days... Arcades where the best.. Hanging out with friends all day, meeting up in the arcades, when you blew all your money away you would hang out in the arcade and wait for one? your friends to go home and come back with more money lol.

I play MK9 a lot, when I have the time, and I never ran into these glitches you mentioned. This game is great to play. It was the better fighting game last year. haha you didn't knew? Ed Boon wanted to make a game just based on JVD. But JVD was working on another project that time so he never got involved with in this game. Just watch? the movie "Enter the dragon" which starts bruce lee and you'll understand the idea for this game.

I love Ed Boon and the guys that made Mortal Kombat. They really care about there fans and respect the fans reception. I remember when Deception fist came out and all i had was a GameCube and i really wanted? the game. So i wrote a letter to the guys at Mortal Kombat and they wrote me back saying they were gonna put the game on GameCube. And the next day it was out. You guys rule hope you keep up the good work(:
