Obama current tax bracket and the majority of his earnings should be taxed at 35% yet he paid 20.5%. The majority of Romney's earnings were capital gains and should be taxed at 15% and Romney paid 15.4%. Now I ask you who is trying to avoid paying taxes? Obama who uses loopholes to reduce his taxes?? Or Romney who has capital gains and pays at the rate he is suppose to? Obama doesn't want to pay more in taxes if he did why does he use so many loopholes to pay less.

These guys are so smart. Politics is kinda cool, exoecially with our white house, I respect them greatly because of their honesty? everyday and trying to make America a better place!

So there will? be another law that forces companies to pay a minimum U.S. income tax if they shift earnings overseas. So how will that effect the location of that comany? Instead of being chartered as a U.S. company, will that mean they will charter themselves overseas? In the case of individuals, would it be unreasonable to obtain duel citizenship in order to shelter those revenues?
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 07:36:21
13:01 - will the rich come up with loopholes or move investments around to reduce their exposure? Well. how about moving money overseas and invest where they won't be taxed to the same degree? Risky investments will take a hit so? the mom and pop or new ideas will have to compete for fewer investors. That new idea might not happen. Investment in other countries means those countries get a competitive advantage over the U.S. from U.S. investors that aren't investing here.
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 07:28:08
11:37 - is he talking about the president's shovel ready jobs that the president laughed about and said they weren't as shovel ready as he had thought. And all the spending this whitehouse did, did NOT keep the unemployment rate below the 8% level he? promised it would. Also, he brought up the economic crisis, this president and Barney Frrank were very adiment in not making any changes at FNMA and FDDYMAC when President Bush warned 2 yrs of their comming troubles. Look that up!!!
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 07:22:48
11:06 2001 ro 2003 - there was a little problem of? 9/11 and the terrorist strikes against us coupled with the dot.com bubble bursting. Tax rates were cut to keep the economic catastrephy at a minimum. This guy does not know what he is talking avout. Those tax cuts led to increases in the revenue to the Treasury just like when Reagan and Kennedy did it in the past.
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 07:18:16
10;21 - Don't look to the president to explain why his great idea was turned down by Congress and have your Congressman explain why they didn't support it??? You gotta be kidding? me. First of all, it's already proven that reducing the tax rates improves employment and brings in more revenue to the Treasury. Tax hikes are job killers. Anyone telling you contrary are ignorant of economics.
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 07:13:53
9:11 - Don't assume the local gov will pass bond issues on the wisest infastructure projects. The school district here needed to grow schools to cover the growth in the student population. A high school built in the late 60's - not that old compared to a lot of high schools here, was proposed to be torn down and a larger school built on the same site. WHAT? need more classrooms? Leave that school there and build at another site W/out Gvt Bonds, local taxes would go up to cover expansion.?
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 07:03:12
7:21 - indexed for inflation so the $1mill today will be $2 mill when all this paper money that is being printed out of thin air destroys the value of the dollar. The costs at the grocery store and gas pump are shyrocketing yet this government says the inflation rate is nothing. I see that adjusting for inflation for this Buffet rule? will be just as much a joke.
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 06:57:18
5:13 if you're a millionaire, you shouldn't pay less than the middle class. They already paid 36% on that money, now another 15% - so? I suppose they paid 51% in taxes on that original money - that means the "rich" is paying more on that money than the average person pays in taxes.
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 06:53:47
4:49 - He said capital gains taxes are for the wealthy. Wrong. If you make $40k a yr and have investments, those investments are taxed at the same rate as a wealthy person. The money set aside, you realize? has already been taxed at the full, regular tax rate. There is no tax break for investing in bad investments. So if they lost $1mill in Real Estate invesments, and made $1mill in Apple Stock, they actually lost $1.3 million and made $700,000. That's effectively 66%. Do you feel better?
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 06:43:57
talking in circles - not really saying anything other than? it's fair. Did not answer the green shirted guy's question about how this tax helps balance expenses. $47 billion over 10 yrs covers apprx 4 days of government's expenses per year. That illustrates the fact there is a spending problem in DC not a revenue problem. That's why he said it's a fairness issue because fiscally, it's pretty worthless. He did say they were going to provide education benefits - so spending going up?
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 06:35:18
At 1:19 he wants to take the added taxes and put it into education. The Dept of Ed is worthless and needs to be eliminated, not given more money. Since they have been established, the academic achievement, as a whole, of our students has slid downhill. Charter schools are much better than public schools however, this president does not support vouchers so students can choose to attend superior schools. Why? Teacher unions own the democratic party. It's? about the union, not better education
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 06:30:29
At 1:02 in the vid, make $1 mill, you pay 30%. If? that is investment income, then they already paid full taxes on the money when they originally made that money. They paid taxes already once on that money. If they invest it and their investments LOSE money, there is no tax break for that. So by doubling the taxes on the earnings, they are less likely to invest if their margins get squeezed. If they don't invest, business expansion will slow. Advances will slow because risk got expensive.
By: rjohntwister. on 15 Apr 12, 06:23:54
At the 45 scond part of this video, the woman asks how the buffet rule will affect people making less than $1 million. Simple. Instead of the 1%'er having as much money to buy things, invest in companies that are profitable, or even run their companies more efficiently by investing capital for expansion or hire workers, they will be sending? that money to the government that is grossly inept at spending that same money as effectively. When the 1%'ers don't have the money to spend????

"Sometimes societies become too stupid to survive. A nation that takes Barack Obama's current rhetorical flourishes seriously is certainly well advanced along that dismal path. The current federal debt burden works out at about $140,000 per federal taxpayer, and h'es proposing to increase both debt and taxes. Are you one of those taxpayers? How much more do you want added to your $140,000 debt burden? ...Whatever? you're willing to bear, he's got more lined up for you." --Mark Steyn
