Im dying to watch this movie i actually just read the book, I really hope Stephanie Meyer makes the sequel to the host also but im dying to see the movie more i think just because i FELL in love with the book,i hope this? movie wasn't as bad as twilight (no offense i just didn't like the actors much) im going to be so frustrated waiting almost a year though for the movie :(

obviously you haven´t seen ´´The Invasion´´ its the same that ´´The point in the book 'The Host'? is that these aliens are fused into? the humans and they want world peace. The book focuses somewhat on the whole world peace thing but it's mainly about the lives of the humans who have not been captured by the aliens´´ see that movie ´´The Invasion´´and then talk.............

I read this book in 2008 I think & I was devastated at how focused everyone was on Twilight. Don't get me wrong it's a good story but it's a bit? cliche. They also dragged it out pretty far. Of course I wouldn't want this to be dragged out too much but I hope instead of revising the storyline they make it into two movies... Anyway I can;t wait to see all the action come to life. I'll definitely be anticipating this release

Actually the concept is not the same.The point of 'The Body Snatchers' was the aliens were making new human bodies and the real humans were vanishing or something like that. The point in the book 'The Host' is that these aliens are fused into the humans and they want world peace. The book focuses somewhat on the whole world peace thing but it's mainly about the lives of the humans who have not been captured by the aliens.Again, it's somewhat like it but the plots? are two totally different things

Saoirse Ronan would make a wonderful Wanderer, but only post-Melanie's body. I think someone like Michelle Rodriguez would make a good Melanie, but Saoirse? is too delicate, pale, small, etc to make a believable, badass Melanie.

This was the best book I've ever read. I did countless reports on the Host? and begged all my friends to read it!! I honestly can't wait for this movie! it is Stephanie Meyers best work and I am a die hard twilight fan. (Team Renesmee) I am SO excited for this movie now!!!! UGH I know! I hate how they cast Jake Abel to play Ian. I mean he looks NOTHING like what Stephenie described! I pictured him in a sort Zac Efron type way. Not exactly him, but a tall guy with black hair and blue eyes? Jake does not match that AT ALL. I do? believe that Saoirse can act as Melanie/Wanda very well, however, she isn't really what I predicted Melanie to look like

Alright so I just read a synopsis of The Invasion, and no, The Host is NOTHING like that haha! If I were going to compare it to something else, I? would say it's closer to The Animorphs, if you ever read that. Only instead of being bent on universal destruction like the Yeerks, the aliens in The Host are trying to achieve universal peace.

Hello :). I haven't ever seen that movie. But in The Host the aliens live inside the humans' brains. They remember all the humans'? memories, and feel the same emotions that humans feel. In essence, they are us, just without violence, hatred, or any other negatives. Even if you have seen a movie similar, I would still recommend the book. It has a beautiful message, and it even has some "action scenes" in it heheh :). Hope this helps!

I bet you only watched the movies. Tho I agree, there isn't really a "big message" to the Twilight Series. It's? just a fluffy love story. The Host on the other hand has a wonderful message. About the perseverance of the human spirit to never give up. And what it means to "human". And that love transcends ALL ELSE.

They should NOT have made Diane Kruger look the way she does as The Seeker. That is NOT how The Seeker looks in the book. Why do directors of today's films have to go off changing the entire look of a villain? The director of the movie adaptation of "The Golden Compass" was the? first to make that mistake when he had the look of Mrs. Coulter (played by Nicole Kidman) completely changed from threatening to deceivingly nonthreatening. This? is exactly what I was going to say too! When I read the book and saw Wanderer and Melanie's relationship--the fact that they talked amongst themselves and had totally different experiences--with Mel's violent and Wanda's calm nature, it would be hard to turn into a movie! But I'm extremely excited for this, the book was great and really interesting. I would have imagined Saoirse to be Wanderer when she becomes Pet and not Mel. I always saw Mel with dark hair and tanned skin..oh well!

I hadn't a clue that they were doing this movie. Well, it's a nice novel, better than Twilight though? very similar in some points. Ronan is a very good actress as well as William Hurt. I liked the trailer. And I believe this movie will be quite good, if well produced, as I imagine it will be.

Wow.. this looks kinda good, to be honest. The Host is the only Meyer book that I? like, no love, and I will not be happy if they fuck this one up as they did with the Twilight Saga. Not too happy about the cast, but what can you do? The eyes look awesome at least^^

I think they should have checked some? of the fan made trailers around here about the book before casting the actors. Twilight? and The Host are so different that it seems like it's been written by two differents authors. P.S. : I hate Twilight. It's like a soap opera with super dramatic actors with no personality or too much personality... =D But The Host is pretty good. I'm working with a film festival in Los Angeles called Look East and "The Host" will be screened June 23-24, 2012 at the Grauman's? Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Can't say officially, but word on the street is that it could very well be the 3D version! Check out LookEastFestival on Facebook for details.
