Hey Mark! I love your club reviews and golf tips! I will be looking at Ping irons this week end. I'm very interested in the i15 or the s56. I'm not a low handicap player, but I feel these irons will replace very well my Wilson Staff Ci6 set. I was wondering, if you could do a review on either the G15 or i15 drivers? Hi Mark, you seem to rate the i15s and i? saw your review on the mizunos too. I am currently torn between getting blades (MP63s or 68s) and these Pings. The jury seems out on the blades vs cavity back argument. Although i strike the ball well i am probably always going to hover between the 10-14 handicap. So is the workability of blades going to be lost on me? Better to go with what feels best (i really liked the 'squeeze' feel of the i15s).. Thanks for any steer you can give! Tim

nice tip with the drill, have not seen that one before. question for all when was there ever a correct yardage to hit? I hit my driver 270m carry 297y hardly any roll out with an 8.5° loft but my nine iron 115m 126y but I do that consistently, hitting a 9 iron a long way is not what it's for. it's about being able to? repeat it consistently.

Don't forget to set your wrists! If you follow this video verbatim, you will actually return the club head into a closed position at impact and your shots will hook right, a common problem. The solution is to set your wrists correctly - try this - at address, lift your club into the? air to 90 degrees with wrists, then turn 45 degrees, your club will be paralell with the target line and the clubhead pointing straight up in a neutral position, this is the correct setting of the wrists!

maybe. tiger is still long though. he isnt a bubba thats true. but if he wanted to i would bet he could hit 320-330 no problem. IMO many tour players can, but the rough is penalizing, not like courses avarge people play. they are better with a 5 iron from the fairway than a 7 from the rough. take my word for it man, tiger is too smart of? a golfer to lead the tour in driving distance. in his college days though he would hit a 2 iron over 300 ive heard

there is no rule in golf saying you can't use a an iron on a green. PGA pros/international pros do it regularly when faced with a putting? line that would run off the green. You just simply can not take a divot if you use an iron on a green. Not 100% sure about this but i believe you cannot place the club head on the green when addressing the ball also. But i could be totally wrong about that last part.

I appreciate all the instructions and good advice but here's a great teaching tip for you, "show me, don't? tell me". You would have done better to have hit 5 shots and talked through them rather than lost our attention just with chatter. When I do my chipping I do mine perfect by closing legs together and do a steady chip on green like a putting shot nice and steady not fast and it helps give u a nice chip to flag I do them all time I always do one put or chip in also your grip on the club make sure u grip it right and make sure? your stands is aiming at the flag don't worry about the bunkers you will get over even if u do like a putting chip shot

Thanks as always Mark. In my opinion, the S56 by ping in better feeling & more traditional in looks than the anser. Although the S56 is cast rather than forged it has feel that rivals Mizuno. Please compare the? S56 and the anser if you can.

I went to buy new clubs today. Just by chance i picked up and I had a go with the burners and the cobras. The differences I noticed was that the burners were heavier and were not as easy going as the cobras. The cobras seemed to do exactly? what I wanted. Hook, draw, they went as straight as an arrow and had an incredible feel. I went with them, a truly magnificent club set! I would recommend them to anyone! I am hitting the ball much further now. Out of the two cobras are the ones!

Hi Mark, I'm 16 and a 23 handicapper but I shoot 10,11,12 over I just haven't been cut because I haven't played many competitions I only have a £100 set of lynx irons and I want to get a new set I hit my irons sweetly and don't duff any of my iron shots do you think I should try blades or stick to cavity backed clubs?? cheers:)

ive got nike pro? blades and im a pretty built/muscular guy and swinging blades doesnt really feel any different i love blades ive been playing for about 7 years no every other weekend. i feel a wole lot more control in my shots with blades and cleaner striking!

I am wondering if my next set could be blades (I won't buy them until next year most? likely and my handicap will hopefully be lower by then). I am looking for a thin top line and great feel. Someone can suggest me the easyest blade u've tried??Now i use R9 irons,not the TP version,but i need to switch to blades cause i'm 1,89m tall and i need a longer shaft and a modified upright (and i can't bend the cast irons!) What? he considers "out of the toe" I class as a sweet shot :D - My first hit with my Mizuno MX-100's was literally a 3rd off the toe edge of the face on an 8 iron - still went 100 yards dead straight though :)

Mark thanks for the help with the different types of irons. I have been playing Miz mx15s for a dozen years. I am upgrading to a new set in the next 2 weeks. I am also getting fitted with the shaft optimizer and launch monitor etc. I play to a 9 right now but have been as low as a 6. I think the hardest part of the choice is the forged irons with a little help vs. the more pure blades. The AP2 vs MP, MX800 vs MP 53s? . What do you think should be the deciding factor?

Mark will? probably tell you to try them out first, if your good enough to handle these clubs you should feel the subtle difference. Mizunos I believe are harder to hit. When I first bought the AP2 I was 11 handicap, it was hard to notice the difference between the AP2 and my shitty Nike slingshot. Once I learned to hit the ball more flush and consistently the AP2 was great in terms of working around the bends on the courses. But the Miz looks awesome. good luck kid

The TMs appear to have stronger lofts in the long irons, so you are? probably not comparing apples with apples. Distance is not a good way to compare irons - if you want more distance use the next club down in your set or switch to a set of cast cavity backs!

I have the MP T10 which is basically the same thing and mine? has been hit out of fairways and rough and it looks like I've been hitting it out of the rocks. It's a great club, don't get me wrong, but if you want something that will hold up its looks better, I would lean towards the Cleveland CG15's, which I own now.

If mark swings at the same speed with the same launch angle equal force will go onto the ball and they will go the same? distance (give or take a little for spin). If you launch lower you will hit further, with the same swing, if you took a 3 iron head onto a PW shaft then put a P on the bottom you could hit really damn long PW's and brag, but would it really be useful when you want to hit the green from 100yds and pitch 6 feet before the pin?

Ha ha ... it is funny to see Mizuno? always wins with Mark, his love for Mizuno cannot be hidden, so what is the value of comparing? Ok Mizuno are very good irons, however I got the feeling that TM was quite a lot better in its performance, much stronger off the face... in the end it is all very personal, some objectivity would be more than welcome Mark!

Mizuno all the way for me, I was comparing Mizuno, Titleist and Taylor Made last time I bought Irons (about a year ago). It was really close between the Mizuno and Titleist for me (was comparing Titlest AP1/AP2 and Mizuno? MP52/62. The Taylormade's something about the top line around the toe put me off. Settled on 52's, what I really wanted was MP62 for 7 iron and down and 52 for 3-6 but it was going to be a really expensive way to do it.
