Civil engineering, like most engineering degrees, requires math beyond Algebra to the level of Calculus II or Calculus III and may include Differential Equations. I've known, CE's who got their degrees and were B and C students in Math and got jobs. If you're prepared for long hours of homework and sometimes challenging tests for up to 4 to 5 years, then yes. Technical? writing, statistics, and computer analysis is also part of engineering education.

The job outlook for architecture is not that good at the moment. A one or two year degree from a community college in environmental or green energy construction installation or design is currently in demand. I would start? just by gathering information to determine the educational and business requirements and whether these areas may be right for you.

Engineering firms meet the needs of their clients in a relatively short time frame. The reliance on analytical software has more to do with cost and efficiency. When I tutored undergraduate engineering students, most of the? them wanted to get to the mathematical mechanics of a problem without learning the intrinsic fundamental properties of nature. This is a systemic problem inherent in both academia and industry. Most Engineers I know do analysis before making their decisions.

OK, your head is in a good place for going either CE or architect - and, while either can end up running construction projects, CE tends to be a less convoluted path to get there. I'd say that it's time for you to try night school at a local community college - there's a certain amount of crap involved in getting an AS degree, but you can take the math and drafting classes that you would need anyway at about the cheapest? cost per unit and get a bit of a feel for which way you want to go.

i have not taken any college courses yet,? im trying to get some money and i work in a drywall company for now and i know is not the same but when i get a job done i feel like construction is the right carrer for me of course i dont want to be a handy man all my life i want to get my education and be way up there in this business. i like buildings and designs perhaps i should try arquitechture i dont know.

I've worked with guys who worked their way up from drafter to engineer - generally, they will know how to do a solid job - sometimes even innovative. That said, they very rarely seek out any kind of supervisory position, being more of the career-corporals of the engineering world. But, if they cannot back up their decisions with solid analysis, they're in the wrong job - degreed or not...?

Can you get a C+ in calculus, physics, and freshman chemistry at the university? Absolute minimum requirements - better if you can score higher grades... CE's mostly need to be willing to beat the problem to death, and keep track of the details, and not drop any digits in their algebra... Good point. I know of companies that have had individuals without college hours supervising engineers simply because of? the years the've worked for the company. I've witnessed arguments where such supervisors threaten to fire the engineers claiming their experiences on the job gives them expertise over the engineers.

In the strict sense of the word, you're right. However, it is very close and methods overlap. Engineering often relies more on modeling and development testing. ? Science relies more on controlled experimentation based on fundamental principles. This fact was clearly made apparent during the Challenger disaster. Morton Thiakol engineers warned upper level management that the booster O rings had never been tested at such low temperatures and could possibly fail during the launch.

That was a problem for me for a few equations during my undergraduate studies. Senior and graduate level classes began to fill in the gaps or reveal the limitations of those equations. However, those equations are? modified to deal with very narrow conditions allowing for better predictions under real world conditions.

I think your right, I recall a least a couple of equations in both fields that were valid within rather narrow parameters. However, I worked on many engineering problems with? equations that were applicable under narrow conditions or specifications. Thus, many of the those equations became obsolete within a decade as new methods or technologies were introduced.

imagine a wheel with a brick on top of it, when its on top its center of gravity is over the contact point with the ground, so its balanced. Now imagine the brick attached to the side (outer? rubber that contacts the road) of the wheel. The wheel will roll so the brick hits the ground. As long as the center of gravity is to the right of the contact point it will roll right, uphill or down, the incline changes the contact point. In the video the first tyre is normal to set up the illusion.

Nja, wenn du die Logik dahinter verstehst, dann tun dir die formeln nichts. Als Ing musst du auch nicht? grundsätzlich alle vollkommen genau verstehen - in meiner Erfahrung ist CAS schon ein guter Freund, solange du selber genau weißt was du rechnest, reicht es die Formeln nachzuschlagen. Das hauptprinzip ist immer Divide and Conquer: brich deine Aufgabe in Subsysteme auf, die in Subsubsysteme die einfach genug sind - und designe ab dann unter verwendung der Abstraktion.

Ideas will come all the time - engineering is always a full-time job, as even if you spend a few hours in the firma, your brain keeps working all the time on solutions. Sometimes ideas come while taking bath or so. It also depends if the? first prototype works - or a lot of debug is required - especially in software and electronical engineering

I would put my life savings on the fact that he enjoys reversing more than watching TV. 2) You are being completely naive in the possible applications of lifting private keys via this technique. i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi? fig tree) jesus (many sayings) ross horne's book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for over 6 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone everywhere.

I'm a draftsman & I work with Architects I would have to disagree. Architecture is creative only when you've been given freedom from the owner to be so, & it's very hard to get to that point. In the meanwhile, you have to make boring building plans according? to the owner specs, you're a tool & not the designer. In addition to that, you have to follow strict building codes which are super annoying. I want to change careers. I love technology & i want the skill set needed to invent new technology!

I started computer engineering school, planning to go into the IT field. Being warned of the danger of outsourcing in the CpE field, I doubled into electrical. Now I'm helping design the Smart Grids of the future and battery systems from automobiles. I think mechanical/electrical is the most versatile field, as the manger in my first job in IT was an electrical? engineer. I don't do any IT anymore, but I always found EE to be far more difficult. But as I was saying, computer engineers and CS can perform the task of an IT job. However, an IT may not go the other way around. Very rare do you see an IT? hold an absolute position over an engineer of the same trade. Usually, the best IT will work in conjuction, but under the best engineer. There are legalities to it too.
