nah just get a driver and a putter to start. Find a open field (baseball field works great) and practice throwing your driver till you start to get the hang of throwing it smoothly. Best thing to? do is look up some how to vids on youtube so you can see how you move your body when you throw and helpful tips like how to hold the discs in your hands ( like the power grip for drives ). As for putting just do a 15 min warm up at one of the baskets on your course before you start playing. Cheers!

I am a fit 18 year old male and this is probably one of my favorite sports and I do everything. I play in Michigan started 4 years? ago. It is very easy to pick up and can be played anywhere. It is loads of fun and highly recommend it for any shape or size. My girlfriend plays it(not the best) and still loves it. Never heard a bad thing about it.

I love this sport. I've been playing for several years, and it only gets better and more fun the more you learn. Also, I've never encountered a rude disc golf player. I? play on a busy course in South Florida (Trade Winds). Everyone that plays there is awesome. I also used to play in Virginia and had the same experience. I'm about to buy a portable basket so I can set up anywhere. I seriously love this sport.

I live in Canada and I had this surgery in Feb. of 2007. I was in constant pain for 3 years to the point I could not walk more than 5 minutes without screaming in pain. My family doctor refused to do anything but give me pain killers. I was on everything from celebrex to oxys to dilauded. I was on a waiting list to see a surgeon but was told it might take a few years. Call the? surgeon yourself! All day everyday if you have to!

Being Canadian wouldn't make a difference. I? am, and have been suffering for 3+ years. Neurosurgeons refuse to see despite an MRI showing disc bulges and herniation in 3 spots. Still my doctor keeps trying to make appointments for me. Apparently, it's not bad enough yet, though I'm in pain every day and I'm only 28. This video makes me light-headed.

I literally had my surgery today. I am amazed that my lower leg pain has disappeared. Only once? or twice I felt a little, but like I side I am laying in bed recovering my first night. At this point I do not regret it. I started off with just lower back pain for a few months, tired everything, yoga, stretching classes, chiro,, body massages that did help the most to subside along with Pilates, and will continue with both after I fully recover. I had this done over a year ago and I'm doing great now. I was? able to go back to my normal life within 4 months of the surgery date. The main reason for this was I was 23 when I had it done; my age had a lot to do with it. On the other side of the spectrum, one of my co-workers who is 47 took well over a year to return to full duties since my job is very physically demanding. I think the first one front brake took me about 30 mins to an hour but that was my first attempt the second attempt my rear brake took me about 15 mins. FOD can and will damage these discs faster than anyone can say ricers are failures. That is the reason that almost all cars that are road legal have cast iron discs. Yes, i'm aware of that - but a few simple units are easy to understand: if you describe the pressure (correctly) in bar even the dumbest moron could understand a simple example 1 bar is (roughly) the atmospheric pressure - a car tire? has an airpressure of around 2 to 2,5 bar if you state it in a completle wrong unit a ton is 1.000 kg, 1.000.000 g - and still a mass unit, it's not even close to pressure for discribing pressure you need the area and the acceleration - so 2 units missing
