I don't have Spinabefida but I also use a wheelchair to "get around." I live in Texas, so I'm relatively close to the park.. but for? people that don't live near Texas, (you, in this case) you might want to check out "Project Angel Fares." It's a small organization that helps families get to Morgan's Wonderland! They have a site, "ProjectAngelFares[.]Com" but they also have a Facebook page. Look it up! Good luck! You'll love the place! Who in their cold, COLD heart could possibly dislike this? I live here and work with special needs children, and I must agree with the two who commented already that, YES, they are absolutely wonderful to work with! Morgan's Wonderland is indeed a? truly unique and special place that does indeed fill a major void. So many families of special needs individuals have discovered MW and it has brought only positive things to the San Antonio community! Way to go Gordon Hartman!

dude got the same condition (spastic CP), stretching the muscles which are tight has really helped me. not only does it help your strength at the gym but makes you feel so much better, and so much easier? to avoid injury

I think you're completely right. A lot of? the time, people just do stuff without thinking about it, or do things like make jokes about something that isn't funny because they don't understand it. I don't agree with laughing with the jokes because it only makes the person or persons feel like they are belonging with the group instead of just being themselves. Some people just make stuff up so that? they can feel like they belong to a group of people because they can't feel comfortable in their own skin they have to try to hard to fit in. I think the reason people make fun of others with or without disabilities is simply because they are not? happy with who they are inside. They don't like who they see in the mirror anymore so they try to make fun of others to make themselves feel better. In reality they are just making themselves look foolish and childish. I have bipolar, PSTD, anxiety disorder and ocd so I do understand where you are coming from.

A joke is one thing when it is around good friends. But when it's just random people it? can be offensive. I'm bipolar, have tourettes, and am socially awkward. When my friends make a joke, I know they mean nothing behind it, so it's alright. Especially since some of my friends have the same problems. But, it hurts when random people poke fun and make jokes. I agree with you totally they won't take the time to try and understand I myself was born with spastic triplegic cerebral? palsy and have dealt with many ignorant fools and know how it can hurt. K so, gonna enlighten you all to why I personally created the autistic penis joke. And yes pairs, I was well aware of your disability but it wasn't aimed at you. Once someone I consider a friend is confront and pretty much made into a very uncomfortable position by one person, who by the way, blamed? autism for no being able to control his penis (Hence the joke) It becomes a whole new ball game. Jokes are not funny. Jokes shouldn't even be made towards any disability. My daughter was born with a cleft palate and a cleft lip. Yes, that's some sort of a disability because of her speech, hearing, etc; I can't tell you how many times I've had to comfort my daughter after school because people have made fun of her and how many times it has hurt me? enough to go to the school and physically hurt someone. I know it's pretty hard if you get confronted by it every day. just laugh it away. if you start laugung with it the 'bullies' ,in this case, will stop cuz you're no longer a victim but a spectator of the jokes.
