My favourite movie of all time, i saw it first at night, in black and white tv,? when I was 12, for the first I realized that movies actually told deeper stories about the human condition..and Hoffman, Voight, of course the novel by James Herlihy.bought it all together. There are many movies based on novels that just don't get it, this one did, in spades.

well the funny thing about that argument is that the "God" of Judaism, Islam and Christianity is effectively the same. a fact that has been admitted by all except? the ignorant and frightened minds of fundamentalist movements (those are examples of fear leading to evil). so this Omnipotent creator of the universe would either be willing to over look our limited perceptions from the bias of culture, or said entity would not be worth caring about.

Well, hold on there buckagroo. I would be a fool to deny that people have done those things in the name of religion, but understand that religion doesn't endorse those things. Also, keep in mind that religion keeps people in check. If people didn't have, "the fear of god" many would not have the reward and punishment system in place necessary to prevent wrong doing. The idea? of an omniscient judge of character makes people walk in line. But yes, religion does slow scientific progress.
