You'll want to? use the unit fraction method for those types of problems. Search the uploads at my channel for "metric conversions - unit fraction method." Follow that approach, except cube the entire unit fraction (or square it, depending on the unit your trying to get rid of). For example, 9cm^3*(1m/100cm)^3=0.000009m^3. Always put the unit you're trying to cancel out in the denominator of the unit? fraction.

That won't work when you are dealing with micro meters, pico meters, nano meters. Or? when you're going from miles to kilometers or feet. The best way to do it is by dimensional analysis, it seems to take more time, but in the long run is better.

There is a better way to do this. Use ratiosand unit analysis. The chart is more complex and is certainly not the? way that you would do it if you were doinga problem. How many seconds in 2 hrs? 2 hrs*(60 min/1 hr)*(60 sec/1 min)=7200 sec

I might be wrong, but I don't believe that the direct tv dishes are parabolic. They're designed to receive at an angle, and reflect to? a spot at another angle. Using it straight on will probably give you a spread out heating spot.

Dan, what is the weight of your flywheel...or the tire that you are using as a flywheel ? I'm curious, I have a similar setup but I'm using a 12 inches sewing wheel (from an old sewing machine) as my flywheel...I need to spin the flywheel hard ...so that it keeps going. In my setup; the air goes through a swing check valve and there is? a small wood rod that pushes the valve open every time the piston goes TDC. I think I need a heavier fly wheel.

Unfortunately an inefficient petrol would be an inefficient electric. Your standard lead acid batteries are over 99% recyclable. The Del Sol makes a good conversion for some of the same reasons it has good milage. Low curb weight and low drag coefficient. And the point of doing the conversion is not? to have the car pay for itself, it's to break away from the stranglehold that big oil holds on the world. It doesn't matter how little petrol it uses, it still uses it.
