I made this presentation as the part of my IT series cause I've had many chances to see people who wanna know which jobs in IT are suitable for them. Hello and thank you for the very practical video. I have done firmware design, integration, verification for 2 years after earning my electrical engineering degree. The two years after that I have been working as a manager of an it group and recently I got my security + cert. Programming is NOT taught in school, most of what you learn in school is really not that valuable, the credential of a BA or MA is very valuable. Find out what the 15% of your job is that is most valuable to your manager and concentrate on that, get to know everyone you can.? Even in IT your personal-political skills are (unfortunately) more important than your technical skills (not saying tech skills aren't important, but w/o political skills you'll get stuck). Certification is political.

@MessageInBlood1 I know that what you're saying used to be true, it may be true in some areas, however I haven't seen it in my area since 2006-2007). Certifications are very valuable, but having a four year degree (regardless of your actual skills) will open a lot of doors for you. By all? means, get the two year degree first so you can work your way through the 4 year degree one. If you can't go to a top 10 school, go to the least expensive (in time-effort and money) school you can go to to.

@commandersprocket really? I know for a fact that really good jobs require 4 year degree and like 5 years of experience but even entry level jobs require 4 year degree? I know someone who got out with only associates or only certification and they are getting decent jobs and get paid people that came? out from college with a four year degree.

@MessageInBlood1 No, an associates degree won't get you a job (look at job boards). What I'm seeing is that you must have a BA/BS or Masters and 5 years in N-Tier architectures to get a job right now (you won't directly learn N-Tier/SaaS/SOA in school). Employers are looking for engineers? that can code well in several languages, consume and create web services SOAP/Restfull, manage a database,understand networking (IPv4 vs IPv6, know L1-L7 mean and how they will effect your performance).

If anyone here heres of a IT business called "Northgate IS Solutions", do not apply! They are a waste of fucking time. I was in an interview for an apprenticeship to work? there, and some one i knew went on holiday (He missed the interview), I go in, get it over with... I'm still wating 4 weeks later. The person I know comes back, he comes back from a nice holiday, decidedthat was more important than the job. He gets the fucking job. Then they phone him saying he's got it (READ NEXT COMMENT)...

@GhostShadowXII Not really I would say myself,? information systems is its own area of discipline, I mean Information systems is more designing databases, knowing what systems to use to store information. But they all follow the same general area, using information(data), processing it and then presenting that in a more informative way, that's all IT is, Information Processing Technology (should be called IPT I think).

He used to drive me nuts when he was with the Pistons. He just sapped the Bulls. When he ended up on the Bulls, it was like the Avengers. They make passing the CPA exam seem like a minuscule step. The CPA Exam is a 4 part test. Each part takes 4-5 hours to complete. Taking the exam requires fees costing over $1000 just to sit for the exam. More so, most states require 150 college credits(30 more than a standard BS accounting degree. You also have to work for a CPA firm for a year or two to satisfy requirements to become licenses. Accounting is a? long road that can be rewarding. But make no mistake. It isn't easy.

Umm... Okay yeah I wish they hadn't portrayed accounting like this. I'm an accountant. Not a CPA. We don't start out making $50,000/year. I have my bachelor's yes, but even after 10 years of working in accounting? my salary isn't $50,000. It's MUCH less than that. I make apx $40,000/year and that is high. I'm seeing $10 and $12 part time jobs VERY regularly. And it isn't easy to get your CPA. You need a Bachelor's PLUS 120-150 hours in accounting. That's alot.

there's really no way to tell how good he would have been in the NBA. He joined not far past his prime at age 31 and didn't do? much. Hakeem for example averaged 27 pts 11 rebs 3.7 blks at that age.

Arvydas was a great passer, had a great 3 point shot, and had good post moves in his prime. He would have been great.

Honestly, the NETS are not that bad. they play solid, they just get incredibly unlucky, kinda like the Toronto Raptors. If you've? seen any of the crazy things that happen to the raptors, on youtube. You would understand. But, seriously. I'm a Pacers fan, and I'm always kinda nervous when we play them, because any one of them can kick it on and score 30+ points, whether it's D-will, K-hump, Marshon Brooks, or any of them, really. They are just super bad at closing out games, leading to the losses

But at the same time, you have to acknowledge his failure at playing his position because a true point IS a play-maker and a floor general and that is something Westbrook is definitely not. He scores a lot but he's a ballhog, and he takes way too many shots. Those are not traits the great point guards in the NBA should have. He's a 2 guard.

There was? 25 000-30 000 people at olympic stadium and the ambiance was incredible. The team was bad for years, and it took just a couple of weeks to get people back in the ballpark.
