I disagree. Michael Jordans career assist avarage: 5,4. Kobe Bryants: 4,8. Also, Abdul-jabbar, Malone and Chamberlain were all big men and can´t be compared with Bryant and Jordan, but it should be noted that Wilt Chamberlain avaraged 4,4 assists? in his career and had a season where he avaraged 8,6 assists, which i think led the NBA that year.

Do some people truly know the difference between 45% and 50%? In terms of basketball, it means that a person, who normally makes 45% his shots, can make about 45 out of every 100 shot attempts. So we can assume that a person shooting 50% from? the field can make about 50 out of every 100 shot attempts. Therefore, it's safe to assume that the 50% shooter can on average make 5 more shots out of every 100 attempts than the 45% shooter.

Now let me ask you this: is? one player truly a much better scorer/shooter than the other player simply by the fact that he can make 5 more shots out of every 100 shots he attempts? Maybe. Or maybe you would have to take other things into consideration, including: shot selection (i.e., what time in the shot clock the shot was taken), offensive role/position, teammates, team, coach, strategy, etc.
