i got a 96 honda accord , i had a problem staring , it feel like starting up couple cylinder , but it won't start , i have to spray starter fluid in to the intake manifold and crank it for a while and it will start up and it hold the idle fine , but the RPM only rev up 3,000 and it will cut out,, it won't pass 3,000 RPM, but? if i shut the car off , it won't start again, like i tell u from begining . i had to spray start fluid in again it will start up , i check all i got spark, fuel pressure

LOL. Term "ground" it's electrician's slang, jargon, for many historical reasons. You don't have? to understand this. Just don't treat it literally. In most cases "ground" means negative supply terminal connected to metal body/casing of the device/machine. Like ground is common level (zero) to measure for example height of buildings (everything is sitting on the ground), electrical "ground" is common level for all components in electric circuit (all voltages are measured in relation to "ground").

Hey man thanks for these great videos, I got a weird problem I was hoping you'd know something about. '93 Corolla: my driver side headlight is a little dimmer than the other, enough voltage is goin through (the lights and? plugs have the same resistance as the other). When I switch to high beams though that light turns off. My uncle thought it could be a ground problem, as suggested making sure the ground lugs connected to the lights were good. Only one I found I replugged. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I still have never understood the idea? of a ground...you say the start is grounded to the engine block...but what is the engine block grounded to? Since tires are quite resistive, doesn't that leave electricity in the engine block and stop it from going "to ground"? It's all very confusing.

Hey Eric, love your videos I watch them all the? time, I'm a tech too (heavy equipment), I know you already know this but just stating it in case some people might want this clarified, you said that a battery stores energy when in fact the electricity is not 'stored' but created, when the circuit is completed the electrons flow and there is chemical energy that creates one part heat and the other part electrical energy :) love your videos, stay dirty!

I have an older car, 1977.. When I hook up new? electrical parts gauges/switches ext. I use for connection Deans connectors or Traxxas connectors. Makes it easy to disconnent in the future.

Hi Eric, I? have a Mitsubishi Montero 2001, when I try to start the engine by switching the key sometimes it won't start the engine. I have to put the car in Neutro instead of parking and then it will start. Do you know what could be the cause? Great videos, thanks !

I would have included the fuse box. You CAN have an electrical system without it, but it would not? be advisable. This can be the source of a a number of issues, not the least of which can be blown fuses, of course, and corroded electrical junctures.

Solenoid also throws out gear which couples engine and starter together. So it does mechanical and electrical work meaning it can cause both problems. Flywheel gear ring can add to possible cause if its? teeth are broken.

most of it laps on fastestlapsdotcom was when before the actual production started and such is not a proper representation of what the car really is. the Nürburgring is the real yardstick for production cars and the mp4 did well. also, youre completely wrong about? your gearbox comment, the mp4's gear changing philosophy is completely different, not that its slower, loading up gears the way the car allows you to makes it more practical as a road car.

My main point about the Mac is not simply its performance but it being more of a future classic like the F1 and SLR, the 458 is just another mid engine V8 Ferrari, the MP4 is McLaren's second attempt at making a car fully by themselves and will definetly never be fully out shined like a 355, 360 or 430. Though the 458 "Scuderia" will be interesting; limited run, more power, track oriented. That will definetly surpass the current specification MP4-12C.?

Quicker gear change or not? the 458 is still slower to any increment of speed than the MP4. Besides sound is a purely subjective thing as well, the Huayra is twin turbo charged and sounds godly. Sure the Mac doesn't have that whistle like the Pagani, but it still sounds damn good, and so does the the 458 for that matter.

There is loads of differences. Still throttle response can´t exactly match that? of an n/a. The sound is also another thing. You can´t ever get a Turbo to sound like an n/a engine. Any reviewer of the cars will tell you the Italia changes gear faster.

This isn't the 80s, today their is virtually no difference between? a normally aspirated car and one that is forced inducted. That is why McLaren opted for this 3.8 liter Turbocharged V8 unlike the F1's great 6.1 liter V12. This lower weight and higher power also suited it well on the Nurburgring with a 7:28 lap compared to 7:38 with the Italia.The transmissions are the same unless you find somewhere that says the Italia changes faster by however many ms.

Actually they are. Nobody who owns a supercar cares about mileage. the engine itself cannot hang with the engine in the Ferrari. n/a beats turbo all day everyday in terms of presence. It doesn´t have a quicker gearbox. They are both double clutch systems but the 458 changes gears much faster. Check fastestlapsDOTcom the 458 is faster on most tracks. The? Mclaren has a 30hp power advantage and lower weight, which fits Top gear test track.

Your points are not valid. Fizz and buzz are not scientific and the McLaren does infant house a more efficient and powerful V8 despite the 8,500 RPM red-line. And it also has an even quicker 7 speed dual clutch pre-cog transmission. This? is not a comparison of a F40 or F1 to a Veyron, they both contain tech of the same merit. The Mac however does have facts on its side; a 2.9 sec quicker lap on the Top Gear test track for instance even quicker than a Veyron SS

Actually it´s not. Take the Ring time posted here by Mclaren. Ferrari matches it. And they haven´t even developed the car there. same problem with Porsche, hugely competent cars, an engineering dream no doubt. But there´s no fizz. No buzz at all, to clinical and not so raw compared to a 9.000rpm V8 with a better gearbox. It´s too high-tech? for it´s own good.

More fuel efficient (if that is at all important in a supercar), more ride comfort than any supercar (which is rather important), and? more tech. With all that it is too 50 pounds lighter and more powerful with 30 more HP. Reviewers love to rave on about Italian passion and about how they cant find the TCS off button to do a power slide. Its all a load of BS. From Edmund's Inside Line.

high gear is when? the input gear locks the output shaft to the input shaft, the gear ratio is the amount of teeth on the input gear and the amount of teeth on the flywheel ...there's actually no power going through the counter shaft even though it is rotating... this gear is where your full torque is being exerted from the engine to the transmission

the output shaft gears (output gears) are? the driven gears... countershaft gears are the drive gears.... gear ratio is the number of teeth on the driven gear divided by the number of teeth on the drive gear its in mesh with... the reverse idle is not needed to find the gear ratio for the reverse gear, some instructors tell you that you need it but if you do the math including the idle and without the idle you get the same number

Good Video, But a reverse ratio has to be a reduction ratio, usally close to the ratio for first gear.. .61:1 is an OD ratio.. The idler is not included to? figure the ratio for reverse, it is simply an "idler" to reverse the rotation of the output shaft.

The animation is not correct, it shows the flow of exhaust gases in to the engine! Exhaust gas? comes out of the engine to drive the turbo.

As KSK4lyfe said, on the exhaust manifold just before the turbine. The idea behind a wastegate? is to prevent the turbo from boosting too high. Putting it there allows it to "vent" excess boost accurately (it sees what the turbo sees), while still allowing the turbo to maintain it's peak desired boost level. Think of it like a "controlled leak" that prevents you from blowing up a balloon so much that it pops.

To be honest, with an NA engine, you? don't need one. The reason why it is a good idea to have one in a turbo charged car is that if you have a synthetic oil, the rapid cooling of the oil caused by switching the engine off straight away after a long run can cause the oil to calcify. Turbo's don't tend to last too long if that happens!

As a young person who grew up on forums, and now as an engineer for an OEM, I see both sides of this. I no longer view forums as important for researching new trends and ideas. Mainly now I use it to see if something we saw on test made? it to the field. Centari is just an old school acrylic enamal made by Dupont and the Imron was and still is a standard for commercial use type single stage painting,, I don't use Imron because of the Iso-Sionides that are in it, --- VERY DANGEROUS to your health, I think you ought to really consider checking into stop using that stuff on a regular basis or atleast us a breathable fresh air paint suit and head mask.. The Imron is also made by Dupont, its a rock hard finish? that lasts forever.......

I doubt Bruce Mclaren had such a big vision. Maybe, but i think if he could see how strong Mclaren are today after so many years, managing to become a car manufacturer with such facilities and all that from an F1 team when so many other teams failed? to even keep racing i think he would be in awe. Well here is my 2 cents. I own one same color the head could use improvement but the slippage should be non existent since jack are only made for jacking up cars so you can attach jack stands to the? frame. I also think it would be better if it pumped up the car quicker but for $80 bucks you can't go wrong thanks for the review

I got one of these 6 mounts ago from northern tool on sale for $120 normal price is $160. it looks the same at that one but black. online on the reviews 90 out of 91 would recommend it to a friend. I figure people are way more likely to wright a review when they don't like? a product so it has to be good. the sails man said auto shops come in and buy 10 of these at a time. also tortins blow seals. from what I here. I love it especially since I went from one of those $20 small floor jacks.
