Actually it is well known that lotus develops alot of chassis for smaller car companies, even the GTR has a chassis developed by lotus. Carbon Ceramic brakes where invented? in the UK, but Ferrari made some to put on their road cars. Corvette(or GM) took those brakes and put it on the corvette.

Who mentioned the corvette? And FYI the corvette was not the first car to receive that suspension. Carbon Ceramic brake rotors were developed in the UK by the Westinghouse air brake company. supra and skyline gtr can make 1000-1400hp no problem and have incredible cornering abilities. LF-A is also carbon fiber body... just can't justified the price tag. the car rides like a F1, the passenger could not stop bouncing around - that is some harsh ride. the front end? is ugly as sin. the old aston looks better to me and priced reasonable

I am not judging the car. I am judging its concept. It is just their latest? best version of the 911, but what about the day the next GT3 RS hits the road? Will we remember this one? I strongly doubt it. Why do they have the Mark 1 GTI and not the new one? The old one is hardly faster or better is it? But it was a car that started something new. A leap forward. Porsche has made fast and exclusive versions of the 911 for ages.

You can't judge a car until you've driven it, and autocar has. I don't think autocar would look at the GT3 RS, which porsche has? for years improved time and time again, and say, "oh its another lighter 911, lets just look at it as another 911". The GT3 RS is porsches best expression of what a 911 could be, and the 911 is porsches expression of what a car should be! The 911 has been improved over the years and that itself makes the 911 GT3 RS a very special car.

I? am not too sure about the GT3 RS. It is a brilliant car no doubt about that, I am a huge fan. That said, all the other cars listed did something, changed something about how we think about cars. The GTI is a prime example. It was the first of a whole new, and now huge market of small yet fast family cars. The GT3 RS is just "another" lightened version of an already fast car. It has been done so many times before. The Porsche is brilliant, but not unique.

No it wasn't the F1 was. F40 only used a little. This was first production car? with carbon fire chassis. It's engine is a masterpeice. only thing a F40 has over a F1 is looks, F40 looks awesome, but gets battered in everything else.

I have a Ninja 650R.? Turbo engines are fine but theres nothing like a sharp NA motor, and its a shame BMW didn't use the 1M as a swan song for the inline 6. W/European N52s making 270HP out of the box, I am sure M-Power could have ditched Valvetronic and coaxed ~300 HP out of the N52 at ~8000RPM, and saved more weight on the nose with the magnesium block. It would have been brilliant. But this shows there is big life in the N54, as well as BMW's ability to make good turbo lumps

see my videos for what i drive. in the NA space i have also driven the 250hp r32. for comparison in charged engines i have lately driven the 2.0 tfsi and 1.4 tsi from VW. the flat torque curve makes for better power usage, so at same? power rating it feels stronger than a NA engine. still, the turbo lag is there. fast response? NO! even in the newest turbos the response is by far not as immediate as with a NA engine. power delivery is not as good and will never be. it's physically impossible

'Best' is quite subjective in context. Personally I? reckon Porsche's Mezger six is a 'better' engine than anything produced by BMW. Ferrari's flat plane V8s are also epic. BMW's sixes are absolutely glorious engines to behold but 'best' I think needs qualification. :)

Lets be frank here. SSC was desperate to build Bugatti Veyron record. The company first wanted to? beat McLaren F1 top speed with their base Aero (750hp) until Koenigsegg and later Bugatti beat it. Okay you have sound reasoning and that could be right, but just looking at the size of these cars I still think the Gran Cab goes up against heavy weights of its own size like the DB9/Virage Volante and possibly? the Bentley GT Convertible if you want to push it a bit. And yeah I understand your desire for the Vantage for sportiness because its smaller, but the Virage Volante has a better power-weight ratio. tbf, if you get a 2.5 petrol or diesel Volvo now (including V50, V70, S80 etc)? they do a Polestar upgrade, its about £500 though, which is pricey, but worth the extra power, I know this from working as a parts consultant at a Volvo dealer.

I can't argue with that last statement. Both Cars and bikes are only as good as their Drivers/riders. However there are acctually quite? a handful of Stock Production Cars which do the the Nurburgring quicker. Eg. Dodge Viper ACR, Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition, Porsche 911 GT2 RS. But no, they don't dominate anything else (except perhaps value for money!)... (Disclosure: I don't drive a Honda Civic, but rather? an old MG! I'm sure that the ZR1's roof, hood, wing, splitter, rockers etc. are made of fully carbon fiber. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall the $245,000 GT2 having any large components made of carbon fiber like the ZR1. I do beleive that the outside mirrors are made of carbon fiber, but that's all. Truth is, the ZR1 still has more carbon fiber, better performance if you have the right driver and costs $135,000 less than the GT2. The "Plastic" comment seems like? an excuse to me.

not made with carbon fiber. its layered with it. having 2 layers of plastic and 1 layer of carbon fiber doesn't make it "all" carbon fiber. Carbon fiber uses 2 layers of dry carbon, and 1 layer of either wet or dry carbon fiber to make it truely,? FULL carbon fiber. Only cars, that use full carbon fiber have 5x the price of the zr1.

Heck, the first R35 didn't even come with sat nav or auto lights as standard... my 1999 IS200 came with auto lights as standard!
