Would I like to play? Augusta? Of course. But I would much rather play a game at St. Andrews, Pine Valley, Cypress Point, Bandon Dunes (any of them), Sand Hills, ect. Why don't you read up some before you think you know everything. I suggest you Google "Augusta National changes over time" and choose the Golf Digest link and then look up Golf Club Atlas. Golf Club Atlas will teach you everything you need to know about good course architecture.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA he's the uniformed hater? Augusta National hasn't stood the test of time, the Masters Tournament has. The only golf course that has truly held the test of time is St. Andrews. Augusta is not nearly as dynamic of a course today as it once was. Clifford Roberts single handedly eliminated the ground game from the course and turned a great strategy layout into a glorified? target track.

...good question, but no dye is used on the grass. All the fairways are bermuda, but they are over seeded in the fall with ryegrass to get the color. The greens have been changed at least ten times since 1982, when bent was first introduced. They now are? a mix of A-1 and A-4 bentgrass.

I have heard rumors that turf dye is used heavily but that may be superintendent jealousy. I'm pretty sure that all the fairways are a? Bermuda Hybrid like TifWay and the greens are Bentgrass - probably pencross.

excuse goimboy you're clearly just an uninformed hater. Augusta National has stood the test of time through the past decades, albeit with course changes. Only to reflect the changes in the? technologies of the times; Further balls in-tuned clubs etc. It has stood the test of time in a way that NO OTHER course has been able to. Thats why it is the ONLY major that's "tied to the hip" (lol Martha) OOOhhhh n p.s. long live the R&A and long live St. Andrews

I think that all the fuss about Augusta is exaggerated. It only got so much fam trough the Masters, the only major always held at the same course. The current layout? is NOT in tune with the one MacKenzie and Jones intended. There are many better courses in the world, Augusta might just be the most famous.

I like to think that I am always pro-woman. In this particular case I say let them have their boys club. I understand why the chairman would be standoffish in answers because women are a force to be reckoned with and if they really wanted to be a part of their silly club they would eventually likely get their way...lol. I wish there were more womens clubs. Do women ceo's have their own exclusive? places? They should, They are extraordinary and deserve to be set apart from the men!!!

A "boys club"? You know there are organizations who have memberships that are comprised excusively of females? ? Are these woman simply little girls? Are they all immature because they won't let the boys join? Good grief, what is wrong with men wanting a? place to socialize amongst themselves? why do you pretend you would have "more respect"? if they said they want to stay a "boys club". your use of the term boys club (to envoke an image of 9 year olds in their tree fort) only underscores how much this issue bothers you. I would have more respect for you if you would just come out and say this clubs policy bothers you. I have heard augusta address this issue not long ago and say.. there are both mens and womens clubs in this country, we are a mens club. can we relax the PC a bit?

I believe nothing will change. Nothing? should. If they don't want women in their establishment, then women shouldn't patronize them or the Masters' sponsors.
