I think that MMO's usually fail because of the grinding mechanic. You see Bloodlines is truly a? role-playing game, you don't fight just to get new skills or a new level. For me, and probably a bunch of other people, this mechanic feels pushed down your throat because at times you just want the next story bit, the new location, a change in environment. Not another wave of mindless monsters to slaughter.

But there is always the option of making multiplayer on a smaller scale. The common MMO limitations do? not apply when you play with only like 6-32 players. That's why popular shooters where you often see these player numbers play differently than MMOs (lag is the main reason why there are so very few MMOFPS). Don't get we wrong, Superman is ok,? but I grew up with Bats, and for me the series seemed to have more variation idea-wise (psychological thriller, phobia-related, pure violence, crime drama, head games, etc.) whereas Superman revolves around alien invasion, giant robots, giant death-ray, asteroid collision, catastrophic natural disaster, villain with tons of Kryptonite, and each created by either Lex or somebody from space. Sometimes there's random people, but otherwise mainly alien or Lex.

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are perfect examples of how much more epic Batman is then Superman. Superman games always sucked. Superman 64, anyone? Superman Returns? Ugh. If I remember correctly, didn't they have a "Flight Gauge" (meaning? you could only fly for a set time)? Last time I checked, Supes can fly indefinitely. Plus Batman stories are WAY better than Superman's. Batman the Animated Series EASILY tops Superman The Animated Series also. And the villains: Joker vs Lex Luthor? Joker FTW!

Let's hope we will soon see a Superman game as good as this. Batman Begins from EA really pushed the limit and even though you didn't really feel like Batman,? it was a step forward. Maybe more than once step forward. And then we got this jewel. Superman Returns from EA was also a good game, unfortunately the lack of a decent storyline and the continous repetition make it bad. But seeing as how that was also a step forward, we will probably see a Superman game thats good.
