That's all you need. Tilt the cup of milk so that the steam wand is just below the surface of the milk, so that it forms like bubbles under the surface. This is frothing. Don't froth past ~100ºF (38ºC), and don't steam the milk past like 160ºF (71ºC). Once it reaches that 100ºF, just plunge the wand into the milk until it gets to 160. Smack the cup on the counter a few? times to break up the big bubbles, and voila!

Art is very simple to understand. First there has to be "artistic intent" the purpose for wich something artistic is done . There has to be an "artifact" the object, performance, image... Then there has to be "reification"..that last word is a biggy look it up. Basically what everybody else thinks. As for what contextualisation ,ideology and form art can take, look up Scot? Mcclouds triangle its the easiest to understand.

I've heard: Art is a selective re-creation of reality according to an artist's metaphysical value-judgments. (objectivism), Experience of the mysterious (einstein). (1) The question the video poses is great, however I don't agree with the implied conclusion. In my opinion, the words "art" and "artist" are used extremely lightly these days. Great video. I have come to realise art is a different sensation to the day to day way we experience objects. An artist tries to picture this? sensation but will ALWAYS transform it into something we know how to recognise. They will paint a picture of a landscape, sulpture a portrait or even preset a ready-made like a urinal. I agree that anything can be considered Art. However I do believe that in a time? like this when there is such strong capitalism attached to Art, a line has to be drawn between works that truly reflect skill and thought and those that can be created by anyone on the street. It is much like music. We admire songs that follow musical rules because they sound pleasant to the ears. However when a baby goes to a piano and slams the keys, we call it noise and not music. I'm an art student that focuses on Photography with fine art/ fashion and fashion styling. My friends always ask 'Why do these artists get so much recognition for splashing paint on a canvas and earning millions?! I could have done that!!' (sighs) I always reply with 'Well the fact is you didn't think of that idea? first did you?'' Surrealism is most commonly the misunderstood art. People just need to learn that our life shows art in different forms and we as artists embrace that in our work! :)

my only argument for this would be the credibility that certain artists need to have for their art to be displayed. For instance, a dot on the wall, anybody can mark a dot on the wall, but you have to have some sort of fame for this to be recognized as "art".? Just because some critique said that this great artist was trying to express certain "messages" with that they are showing. If some ordinary person can mark a dot on the wall and stimulate imaginations, then we are all considered artists.

I think Americans remake everything because there are so many studios with so much money wandering around looking for an excuse to produce ANYTHING that? might become a successful show (this is the country that throws millions at crap like "Work It" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks"). Well again, when you talk about artworks you need a concept to recognize them. Or a religious revelation of a kind. I stick to the first. When the modern concept of art was created it was seen a something existing in history. As visual art was mainly paintings old painting looked similar enough to be connected to the new concept. And romantic artists, like Mihcelangelo? and Rembrandt, could be constructed into a new mythology.

(Con't) The concept of "art" is just that, a concept. "Something conceived in the mind : thought, notion. 2: an abstract or generic idea? generalized from particular instances." Would you call Jesus a performance artist? Certainly his work is profound but hardly art. Paintings can be made for many reasons. That something is profound and aesthetic is not enough for calling it art. But the artworld can add itself to this and make art of what they want from history and foreign cultures. Sure there are always ideas? from the past in any new creation. When the typewriter was constructed, yes, it is a kind of writing which people always have been doing. When Christianity was made into a religion it wasn't really new, but Jewish. In that way noting new is possible but still it is reasonable to talk about new creations. Since the "Art world" is born and developed from history isn't only logical we have in it ideas from the past? If it is problematic to identify works as "art" then correspondingly isn't it just as problematic to say that there were "artists"? Yet doesn't the art world do both? Well, the normal use of "intrinsic qualities" is connected to Romantic and Modernist art. When conceptual artists in the 60s made work that questioned art's intrinsic values this idea can hardly be seen as "in essence no different from Rodin". Any debate or interpretation is because of his art. It doesn't make it art. The consensus is one of recognition, not application. The intrinsic qualities and aesthetics of a work are pre-existing. The viewer does? not apply it. A debate over these qualities, or the works "importance" does not change the works inherent aesthetic/artistic qualities or value. Judgement is responsive and illuminates or not. One cannot separate the dance from dancer(s). However as you so appropriately call them, they are "agents" of art. They are not the dancers. They are middlemen to the public. And? how is this "distinctive and individual 'aesthetic' " confirmed? A value cannot be constructed by the artist because it has to be confirmed by the artworld, recognized as relevant and in some way described as a value. The art is the singularity (which always is expected), the value is contructed by the artworlds agents (artist included) and cannot be seen separated from the work. It has been said many times: How to separate the dance from the dancers?
