Excellent video. I've just got one question: Is? it possible to escape the biceps lock/crusher/slicer once it's settled? I've always seen people warning to let the grip go and pull the arm back BEFORE someone triangles your biceps and starts pressing, but what if someone has already settled the attack and you've got your arms locked, is it possible to escape from it? So far, it seems the most dangerous and underrated move to me, since it's so complicated and seldom happens.

The reason i was given from my instructor as to? why you shouldn't cross the ankles is because you should be focusing on pinching at the knees and when you cross the ankles your knees naturally separate. I think its more of a training tool then a rule.

Thank you for the video. I was also taught not to cross my ankles for some reason. I find that it helps me close my knees? alot stronger so my armbars are wayyyy tighter now days. Forget about breaking traditional rules. The only way you should discard techniques is if you repeatedly find them ineffective.. Not just because the brazilians didnt show it first.. Love the videos kesting, they help alot of us out in class.

I'm a blue belt under Tony Harris / Roberto Cyborg Abreu. It's just good fundamentals and common sense. if you have the seat belt you cover the hand of the top arm with the hand of the bottom arm so that if they try attacking your hands they just remove the bottom arms hand leaving them? open for the choke. If you do it the other way around they can effectively defend the choke just by grabbing your hand.
