"Maha Gamila" is wrong because the sound "Ga" doesn't exist in Arabic. Although that wasn't the sound I was refering to in my original post.

This is not a wrong or right pronunciation, it is more of a regional thing; some areas pronounce it as "Maha hiye Jamila" or "Maha hiye Gamila." Or, another example, like she used in the video, Jamal versus? Gamal. Just remember, the point of the language is to communicate efficiently between human beings; thus, just as well as the minor differences of the regional dialects between the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa are overlooked - I can understand them all. It's OK my friend. In order to learn Arabic sometimes you have to cruise through a lot of non related religious nonsense. Unfortunately Arabic language was hijacked by Islam since its inception. I have no problem? with Islam, but even something as secular as language in our culture became so tied up with religion and religious non sense. Thank you for this video! As a native English speaker, it is really helpful to have the pronunciation written as you have done it! I don't know why, but other places do it very badly. i.e. some say ? is 'nun' but 'noon' is obviously clearer and ? is clearer when thought of as 'meem; rather than? 'mim', so thanks a lot!

Yes Ana bahebak is not formal, but any Arab speaker will understand it. learning egyptian/palestinian/lebanese dialect is the best thing to do since its understood by most Arabs whereas many Arabs have problems understanding the khaliji dialects. So I would recommend? studying formal Arabic that everyone understands and learn the similar and imo better sounding dialects of the levant.
