Yo la vi en los 90's en México, la transmitían por un canal llamado unicable. Vi que serán unos 8 capítulos, me acuerdo muy poco de los capítulos. Pero recuerdo que esta la pasaban en la tarde como a las 2 o 3. Solo que se me hace bizarro que a algunos animales, les pongan? manos y pies humanos. Pues como dato. Esta serie? se hizo en colaboración con Japón. La animación japonesa de antes era buena, también hay buenas animaciones y eso debe tanto a su premisa y personajes. Pero concuerdo muchas historias en Japón son muy malas, principalmente las historias hentai.

Rear Window is slow paced and very little actually happens outside of Jimmy Steward peepin other peoples windows. but within that time you understand who each character is, what the situation is, and by the time the film climaxes, you are biting ur nails in anxiety

If the writers create a frightening scenerio where the audience observe random people dying but in the comfort of their own home and theater then will most likely have a emotioanl response to it. Those edge of your seat situations is meant to create an emotional response and not just watching random people die. If the scene is written and executed well it make the audience feel as thou their in that situation themself.?

that's not an emotional response to the loss of a character. that's an emotional? response to the situation. You're not feeling a loss of the character, you're imagining yourself dying that way. There is no artistry there. Not everyone places themselves in the shoes of the random people that killed on screen. They are just cannon fodder. If you place yourself in their shoes, that's not something the movie is doing. That's something you're doing.

The reason that it has an effect is because I can easily put myself in their shoes and say "Christ that could have be me." Characters that the audience knows nothing about can act? as a blank slate where the audience can relate to that person in any way they see fit.

In a way, you're right, there is mystery in suspense, but it is possible to have no suspense in mystery. For instance, working out the 'w' questions of a scene (who, what, where, why etc) is not emotive alone, but when these directly effect the emotional stakes towards the? character, that's when it become suspense. Hitch is distinguishing the two to cease the common confusion that mystery alone is as emotionally effective as suspense. I'd love to know what you think!

Oh man here we go. Bale is the best. ? FIRST voice is the only flaw, what else is there?.? Second I'm assuming you think Keaton is best? Well his Batman KILLS automatically not making him Batman and an imposter. Third Bale didn't do the voice, well actually here I think he did...but it actually sounds pretty great in Begins. You've just about settled? it. I must say though, Barenboim does a wonderful job with Beethoven's piano sonatas. The only reason I prefer Kempff is because Barenboim absolutely murdered the 3rd movement of the Moonlight sonata and he didn't make an impressive job of the Tempest, either. On a lighter note, his playing of the Apassionata is out of this world.

I saw that coming too, but I don't think that was the point to focus there. With every time Steve McQueen's character used the lighter, the tension climbed 100%. Every second, you think that he's going to miss, and that is a stagefright very well made. Besides, as soon as they stop the bet, the lighter fails, which causes the relief. Right after that she says that the guy had no car to bet, so we kinda feel frustrated. I think rather than a twisted ending, he was toying with? the viewers emotions

Hitch!!! You gotta love those lugubrious tones in their description of? fear and suspicion and of course he was the master of re creating these emotions on film. With the limitations of what they could actually show back then throughout Hitch's career as a director its amazing, not just that his methods were effective, but that they still are and indeed films in the genre of vertigo and North by Northwest are classics that are still masterpieces. There was no one like Hitch!

@Audi0Phil You have to understand that Hitchcock pioneered so many stylistic aspects of suspense films, many of which are now standard, and which I guarantee you take for granted (i.e. Psycho is essentially a slasher film, long before such a term even existed), not to mention all the innovation he made with editing techniques and storytelling. All good filmmakers will cite Hitchcock as probably the most important thriller director of all time,? and rightly so!!

A very pleasent response to my perfunctory remark. Your poetry, while somewhat obnoxious, is still well articulated to the point of didacticism, clever but puerile and morose. You should write a book and make a million or two. I write poetry using an iambic pentameter involving,? but not limited too, food rhymes. (Good, Food, Mood) to give you a horrible example. No metaphors similes, homilies, down-homeisms, onomotopeas, palindromes, or non-sequiters involved.

Alfred Hitchcock was a no nonsense man with a passion for horror and suspense and would go to? the extremes of making his vision come to life on screen. He used real birds on the movie The Birds. And Tippi Hedren who played Melanie Daniels said he told her that the birds would be mechanical. But the scene where the birds attacked her in the bedroom were real. She said it was awful, but she did one more film for Hitchcock and tried to get out of contract with him, but he wouldn't let her.
