WOW! Isn't it amazing how they always complain about how a 20 something thousand dollar car has sluggish steering, so so traction control and too much plastic on the interior. This is not a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or any other top notch luxury car. Of course, it is going to have cheaper materials and a little less responsive steering. For this price, what did they expect? I personally think that it is an awesome vehicle and nothing should? change. WAY TO GO KIA!

That was easily the most ignorant review I have ever watched. 'Let's drive wide-open-throttle around a series of sharp turns IN THE RAIN and then, complain about how the traction control system is "too slow"'. Could that be the result of? Kia trying to keep their customers safe from DYING!? Finally, you criticize the? interior. The Optima's interior is better than most vehicles on the road and for a fraction of the price. My advice: stop reviewing cars and cancel the YouTube account. Immediately!

You have inspired me, Im in search of a miata at the moment and you reminded me of back in? the day of how i use to own a mazda 626 lx v6. I love the that v6 motor. It was nothing to me but a beater but i loved the torque and throttle response from that motor and it was practically indestructable. Im amazed as to how you mated it to an rx7 bellhousing. Was that a direct fit? or was there some custom brackets or plates needed? by the way, great work, keep it up.

Its more than 20hp. You had an MX6-LS with 164 hp, A healthy KLDE will only dyno 130-135whp. Thats 50hp gain. Id put money on it that his tune? is very conservative. If he added cams and tuned it well, theres a KL ITB 323 doing 253whp and running 11.2 in the quarter N/A

I don't get the "GT" part. The Mazda5 is a good car, but there's absolutely no "zoom-zoom" in this car at all LOL. Forget about the GT version.... Yeah, ok I get it? isn't a sports car. (My current ride is a '98 Grand Prix GTP with aftermarket chip (0-60 less than 6 seconds), and yes, it would take this car out like it's nothing.) But, considering I'm looking for something in between a SUV & minivan to seat my family, but has good gas mileage I think this my next car! I'll leave my Grand Prix in the garage for casual driving. I think in contrast to a lot of vans currently on the market, the Mazda 5 is at least one of the more fun to drive. It's right up there with an Odyssey, though I'd prefer the reduced the weight and stringing out a 4 cylinder instead of getting into real trouble with the Odysseys v6. Unfortunately, the Mazda 5 is the? closest thing to a JDM Honda Stream, which I think would work incredibly well in the US, instead of the Accord Crosstour.

A semi-decent review.? The part about long road trips is just speculation on their part. I recently drove a 2009 model via a rental car over 400 miles, and it was quite comfortable, and I'm 6'4". There is plenty of passing speed and road trips is really where this vehicle excels with respect to gas millage. I got close to 28 mpg even doing 70+ mph most of the way.

The question is "who is this review aimed at?" I am considering spending the money to buy the Mazda 5 and after seeing your review I was put off buying. I submit that most people are not interested in racing the car but in other things. As far as the Autobahn, it was built for speed, unlike the UK motorways or US highways, and that is a reason there is no speed? limit. The idea is that a normal car drives as well at faster speeds. I find Clarkson controversial and juvenile, personally. Anywas

FWIW: Isle of Man has no speed limits, nor do sections of the Autobahn. To quote Clarkson, "Speed doesn't kill people, stopping suddenly does." The biggest issue in the USA is a total disregard for proper driver instruction. Even within posted speed limits most drivers do not have adequate car control. Every car can do the speed limit. It's HOW it does that speed? limit that defines the differences. When pushed beyond (in controlled conditions) those differences become more pronounced.

I apologize if in any way I offended you. I just feel that Mr Average is looking for something other than what you are trying to measure. People look for a reliable car with a nice feel at realistic speeds. Driving fast is a dangerous thing. You can run over a child or kill a motorcyclist. Driving very fast is some type of hobby but I want my car to cruise comfortably and for my kids to love it etc. Homer Simpson is a fun person and he? wanted a car with a big horn etc (you saw the episode).

4) Dunno, maybe the Michael Myersy mask suggests he knows he is a monster now. Or maybe it goes no deeper than he wants? to look cool. Regardless, he's traded in the blue collar mechanic's garb for the jacket with the scorpion he has always flirted with but now permanently identifies as. OK, I'll grant you the shower curtain and probably some other stuff. But compare this to other recent car movies, Fast and the Furious or Gone in 60 Seconds or Death Proof. My favorite shot shows him carrying Irene's sleeping kid on his shoulder after an outing. Irene is watching from behind in admiration, obviously seeing him as a potential father. Obviously Driver relishes this new type of "hero" role for himself too. He later says it was the best time of his life and he turns down a heist job after meeting her.

1) Nice to meet someone here who can argue sensitively. Well, I won't deny your accusation that this species of sullen badass is an idol of reactionary fantasy. I'll only say I believe there? are hints the film is more of a Revisionist Western than a Spaghetti Western. I didn't like Gosling's "Lars and the Real Girl" very much, but it occurred to me to retitle this film "Cars and the Real Girl."

I must take exception to your assertion that "there is a sense of palusibility to the action". When the action comes in 'Drive', it is of the most OTT and typically Hollywoodish variety. Example: in one scene the mild? mannered anti-hero transforms a shower curtain rod into an instrument of bloody death after a split second's thought. This kind of action can be great fun in the movies, but it only exists in the movies 'Drive' was heavily stylized in every department; surely this cannot be denied?

In terms of character depth, the Driver seemingly has nothing going on in his head apart from a? vague attraction to Irene in the first half, and figuring out how to quickly massacre the latest bad guy in the second. The film is well shot, for sure, and the leads are exasperatingly beautiful. I have been nurturing a crush on Carey Mulligan for years now, but at the same time I felt myself turning queer for Gosling. I felt a deep sense of confusion. (The same happened with 'Shame', by the way.)

Thanks for the interesting reply. A couple of thoughts: I'm almost certain you're wrong about the polarizing part. I'm sure the film received a few negative responses. But by and large, as far as I can tell, critics and audiences were very pleased. I don't know about "tragic", but "nameless hero" is certainly fitting, in a? Clint Eastwood, spaghetti western kinda way. This is a personal opinion, but that kind of character (and movie) to me is supremely uninteresting and also rather reactionary.

B) You have to work to figure out what is going? on in the character's heads. Gosling's performance works through subtle body language, especially his eyes. He is, I think, a daydreamer with maybe not a lot of emotional intelligence, but part of him wants to connect. I don't think this makes him unsympathetic. C) The visuals are beautiful. The color pallette is amazing. The two leads are gorgeous. The other characters have interesting faces. D) There is a sense of palusibility to the action.

Actually, Drive was polarizing. There were a lot of lukewarm? responses from critics and moviegoers. As to its quality, I can only say what I liked. A) It was a sad story about a guy with a shot at happiness and normalcy who blows it because he'd rather be a hero and drive off into the sunset. I found it poignant adn heartbreaking, even as I reveled in driver's success at becoming the tragic, nameless hero he always wanted to be.

To name but a few reasons as to why this was such an "awesome" film. Well, in his review, he said that there are definitley worse movies but he didn't want "to insult it's crappyness by giving it a mediocre grade", so he gave it a "cheerful F" Plus, he later called Sucker punch the worst movie so far? this year despite giving that film a D. In other words, I don't think he really hated Drive Angry. he just saw it as a bad movie that was 100% aware of it's awfulness and decided to give it an even lower grade

I personally enjoyed 'Drive Angry'. It's got the grindhouse feel down 100% and the 3D was used effectively and in your face. If you buy into the nature of the film right from the beginning,? then you will have a fun time for sure. I'm a fan of grindhouse movies and this one delivers. It's knowingly stupid, though maybe too much at times.

He might be in a lot of bad movies, but you've got to give Nic Cage credit for always giving it his all. He never just coasts along or hams it up. He goes over-the-top at times, sure, but only when the? role requires it. That's also why he's accused of being wooden as often as he's accused of overacting. Put anyone else in his roles and they'd just sleepwalk through it... Nic Cage actually puts in the effort required to act. He's been in many bad movies, but never an unwatchable one.
