I think he saw the human mind and character as the most attractive parts of another person. He showed some interest for Irene Adler, mostly because he admired those very attributes in her, but generally in that age women were encouraged to depend on their husbands for everything, which Holmes didn't respect much. I don't think he's gay, he just doesn't seem to think of sex at all, except as a? motive in some of his cases. And of course he's a drug addict, which can lessen sex drive as well.

I believe that sherlock holmes is a character represented as asexual, he is collective and analytical and is really devoid of pleasures including women. As a matter of fact in the first? episode Watson says that holmes view of women is unbiased,therefore he is logical and analytical without putting feelings in the way. He doesn't let his primary desires get in t he way, and if you compare him with watson you could see clearly the contrast which is interesting

It either hits at the fact he may well be homo/bi or asexual, It's also a possible the character of holmes was simply once scorned so painfully by the fairer sex that he has disavowed himself of any intimacy with the fairer sex. That has been a debate going in the endless, if you search about it on Google, you'll fond tons of sites where it is being talked about.. Either way, AC Doyle has never said if he was to one side or the other, after all there is all so another episode (can't remember the lame of it) where he states, that if he had ever loved a woman the same way, he might have done the same. So there is no easy way of making a 100% strong argument of him being? either Homosexual, Hetro, Bi or Asexual.

One of the things I will always remember the series by are Tim's knees. When I was a kid I was greatly puzzled by the question "Where have I seen this guy before?" and realizing? I don't think it would have? been much use to Prof. Moriarty. 'Spoil' is the dirt and stones that would have been removed from the tunnel. This is a pretty good plot, but even the pawnbroker might have noticed that the cellar was being filled with a lot of soil. Prisoner of War escapes in WW2 had a lot of difficulty concealing the tunnel spoil. With or without Moriarty, (introduced for this film), the plot is a bit creaky at this point.

i have been a major fan of sherlock holmes all my life. Have devoured all the books a hundred times. Can not believe i had not come across this series. Jeremy Brett brings out the essence of Holmes. Undercurrents which one would read but couldn't fathom till he performed them out. His eyebrows and his voice speak volumes. What an actor! Undoubtedly the best Holmes ever. The rest can eat? dust. This is truly incredible acting!

I'm normally completely against justice of any kind being handed out by prisoners for a few reasons but this really seems to deserve it. The nature? of the crime, the motive, the age of the victims, the position of trust and authority the judges had. Hopefully there will be some of the most poetic justice ever seen dispensed.

This is a joke! NIA has kept me informed when it comes to what? is HOT in the stock market! The difference is that NIA actually owns stock in the companies it is suggesting! They aren't being paid up front to promote a particular stock. They do all the homework for you and you can backup everything they say! Peter Schiff is way off on this one... Yeah, I agree with you completely on the age thing,but I'm a long time fan of Charles Grey, so I just kinda picture the younger version of him in the role while I watch it. Thank you for posting these! I needed to watch them all again to see how faithful they are to the original. I was a bit surprised by? how much they were, in fact, close, but how this in particular was out of order with canon. This forced the authors to cut parts of the opening that refer to the death of Moriarty, the reason Holmes was complaining at the start of the 'lack of criminality'.
